Hi everyone, I have a 4-week-old daughter and she has been having some issues with spitting up lately. Sometimes it will even come out of her nose. Sometimes it is forceful and other times it just streams out of her nose. Anyone else experience their baby spitting up through their nose?

Yes, my baby has spit up through his nose! I was burping my now 4 month old son Cayden on my lap when everthing came out of his nose and mouth. My husband was sitting right next to me and it really scared us. Cayden didn't seem to mind though :) It happened a couple other times since then but I think it's pretty normal when their digestive systems are still forming. One rule of thumb that has always worked for me is always gently burping my baby until he burps. I always burp him in between boobs. Sometimes laying him on his back right after he eats then picking him up to burp him helps to get the burp out too. Good luck!

yes i can totally relate to u cause i have a 6 week old baby who spits up through her nose and she has been doing it since she was a few weeks old. the doc at her one month check said to have her sit up for 20 min in her chair or just in an upright position and that will let the milk settle. also burping the baby on ur shoulder only instead of sitting because being crunched up can cause that. then that did not work and she would not even sleep at all laying flat and finally the doc diagnosed her with acid reflux and she is on meds for it now and i can say that it has helped alot!!! i would talk to the doc if any of this dont work. this also happened with my son when he was little and it does get better with time as they get older.

Yes!!!  The first time it happened to me was when I was in the hospital still.  The last day I was there I had to give Jayden formula instead of breast feed because it just wasn't working for me.  A little bit after he ate he spit up what looked like more than he drank!  I came out his noes and mouth.  If I remember correctly he did it a few times untill he was about 3 months old.  Not all the time mind you....just every once in a while.
