I was supposed to start my period yesterday, and i am on birth control so when it starts it usually starts very obvious and dont stop for atleast four days. but yesterday i just started spotting, and still havent done much more than that....and i have had very painful bloating for the past week before my peiod was to start. should i be worried or is it nothing? im pretty sure i dont have medicaid anymore so i cant afford to go to the doctor unless i absolutely have to....?

my period actually ended today. i only actually bled for one day and the rest i spotted...a couple months ago i spotted for a week before my period was even supposed to start, and then i had a regular one, but it usually changes once a year when im not on BC, but when i am it never changes....the only protection we use is BC, because it has always worked for me. the last time i had sex was a little over a week ago. and i know its normal to bloat cuz i do so every month, but i have never had bloating that was that painful...it felt like someone was stabbing me just above my belly button for a week straight......

My period has never been the same since I had my son. It is normal to only spot on BC and to be bloated during the time your period is supposed to arrive. Have you had unprotected sex? I would take a test. When was the last time that you had sex was?

My period's vary despite having the contraceptive implant and sometimes I don't even have one! It could just be a change in your cycle but take a pregnancy to put your mind at rest.

Get a home testing kit and go from there. Hope it all goes well. x

I'd just wait and see what happens, personally. Your period can change over time. Mine changed a few years back- when I asked my dr about it, he said that your cycle is part of a bigger lifetime cycle that can change roughly about every 10 years, something about the hormones changing as you get older.
Also, I bloat for every period and have crazy mean cramping. If there's a possiblity you could be preggo, I'd take a test to be sure. Lots of women "spot" when pregnant, it's called implantation bleeding and can seem like spotting.
Hope that helps!

Is it possible to call and talk to the nurse at your doctor's office?
