You should be able to get it at your local grocery store.

Dawn dish washing soap! As long as the clothing has not been put in the dryer which causes stains to set, Dawn should do the trick! Just apply the soap to the stained area, scrub with a brush, let soak for a half an hour and then put in the wash with your regular load...voila! Stain-be-gone! LOL Good luck!

spray works well for spot cleaning I do use it myself for an extra boost but I find the powder is great for when you don't have time to wash the clothing right away, you can just soak till ready to wash. Plus the powder comes in handy for all kinds of messes kids tend to make lol, not just laundry. you can buy either type at most supermarkets,

Oh great thanks for that. I need to get a bit more up to date I think.
I noticed a few of you use this oxy stuff. So the spray rather than a soaker like biotex? Can I get this at any supermarket?

hi there! i use baby oxy spray on my son's clothes - he has a lot of white shirts and not a single stain on any of them since i started using it. just spray it on the stains , give a little rub and let them sit for about five minutes before putting them in the wash. good luck!

I'm afraid I permanently have a bowl with good old bleach or biotex in it for as soon as my grandson finishes his meals, as long as they are well rinsed then go through a wash cycle it works. In my day we used to have the nappy bucket full of biotex

I bought a longsleeve wipe clean art apron. I used it for my first little one and have just started using it for the second one. not every meal, but the ones you know are more difficult to get out and when they are feeding themselves. it's worked a treat :-)

Bicarb soda is great for everything from removing stains, to deodarising babies favourite stuffed teddies !!! Its natural and gentle on babies skin. Try soaking the clothes overnight in bicarb and then wash as normal the next day... you can even put the bicarb in your mashine just for an added boast !

I don't really have much of this problem.. We use bibs. :P haha.. But I agree with the other ladies, naked eating will probably be the best bet to not get stains. We use oxy-clean to help get out stains.. Also you should always soak them before washing them.. put the clothes in a container of cold water mixed with soap and let it set for over night.. then when you do your wash pour the hole thing in the washer (water and all).

lol have to agree with Cecile on stripping baby down to eat I did it with both of my older kids, other then that acting quickly sometimes works as soon as she is done eating remove soiled clothes and using regular dish detergent rub into stains then let sit in water till able to wash them properly ( my hubby just asked the other day why there is always baby clothes soaking in the kitchen sink lol) I use Ivory snow and oxy powder designed for baby clothes in the machine. as a general rule I have found that once a stain drys onto the fabric it is harder to remove.

Have you tried to put the item in the sun? That usually works for tomato-based stains. I use an eco-friendly laundry products that are fabulous and cheaper than the supermarket/pharmacy/WalMart that you buy online.

Failing that, to the horror of my mother, I used to strip my toddlers down to their diapers during messy meals like spagetti night.
