I think I've made the decision to start my baby on solids. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on when you started your babies on solids and what you started them with? He drinks 8 oz (no joke!) every 1 1/2 hours at least (I've tried taking the bottle away at about 6 oz to see if he was eating just to eat or if he was just hungry but 5 min later he wanted it back so he is actually needing 8 oz) I have decided to wean him from me and do just formula so because with breast milk it only lasts about 30 - 45 minutes. I don't think this is a growth spurt cause it's been going on for 3 weeks or so and before that he regularly at 6 oz every 2 hours. I have come to the conclusion that my little guy is hungry hungry hungry!!
So here's my question. He is almost 9 weeks old and he's eating a TON! I want to start him on solids. How should I go about doing that? He can sit up almost all by himself (I would definitely classify him as a supported sitter) he can support his head really well and he's been teething off and on for about 3 weeks (he popped a floating tooth right before he hit week 7 and it looks like he's got another wanting to pop within a few days) so what do I feed him? What is best for a baby this age? What will fill him up but still give him his needed nutrients? How often should I feed him food versus formula? HELP!
