Okay we live in FL and it has been 93 degrees. I have a 2 1/2 year old and am in the pool a lot with him. I am itching to get my 3 month old in briefly but would feel more comfortable with some sunscreen on her. I found this stuff by Neutrogena that is pure and free it claims and only has Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide as the active ingredients. Has anyone used sunscreen on their babies? My son was born in November so I did not have to worry about this with him.

I use the sensitive banana boat stuff on Lily and she hasnt had any reations or anything to that. I think that as long as its sunBLOCK and not sunTAN it should be sweet!

My pediatrician told me, "sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen" and the end of our last visit (my daughter's 6 mo. visit). I have been told by another pediatrician to not use sunscreen for babies under 6 mos, though. bummer

I was just watching the Today show this morning and one of the segments was with Dr. Nancy Snyderman and the topic was sunscreen. One of the questions were about 6 months and under and the use of sunscreen. She said that b/c baby skin is so thin that it isn't recommeded for them to be in the sun at all and that is why it says on the bottles not for use under 6 months. It kind of sucks but, good to know.

I live in Philly and my boy is months. My pediatrician specifically told me TO use sunscreen and get a stick for his face but don't put on his hands becuz you don't want it going in his mouth. I would do as suggested and test an area of his body like feet to make sure there is no reaction. I just baught a generic brand and will try that soon. Other then that keeping the baby out of direct sunlight is the best and protective clothing of course.

I work with a company that makes a difference in our world. The products are so much safer, better, and healthier because they use all natural ingredients in their products compared to the products from the grocery store. You would be surprised to learn how many toxic ingredients you can find in home and personal care products. We have a children's line of shampoos, lotions, vitamin, and soaps. We also have sunscreen that I am confident enough to put on my 8 month old. She has never broken out or gotten a rash with any of the products I use for my children. In fact, their allergies and asthma attack have reduced dramatically since I started using the products. This is someone I am proud of and enjoy working with from home. We have a team to help, train and guide you to success either as a preferred customer or as a business partner. We are the Team, the team that cares about you. I live in S. FL too, and I am an Esthetician ,so I'm a nut when it comes to sun protection. I have a 5 month old son who has milky white, Irish skin, and red hair. My husband and I love the beach and pool, and were going through withdraw. We did our research and asked lots of people, including our Pediatrician and Dermatologist about babies and sunblock. We were told it was safe, in fact important to begin applying it at 3months of age. As far as brands, NEUTRAGENA PURE & FREE for babies was recc. by the Dermatologist. I tried it, and didnt like the way it spread on the skin. I also feel more comfortable with Organic products. So now I use CALIFORNIA BABY products.

We did have our son in the pool a few times, but were told by the pediatricain he shouyldnt be exposed to the chemicals or bacteria until 6 months. For now we just enjoy filling up the baby pool and letting him play.

I use the Neutrogena pure and free baby. I started using it on my son when he was 9 months old. On the back it says use on children under 6 months of age only with the advise of a physician. Maybe you could call your doctor and ask him or bring the bottle in at an appointment? My doctor told me to keep him out of the sun also but that's practically impossible and this sunscreen is fairly new so doctors may not be aware of it and how it's changed.

My doctor and the public health nurse both told me that sunscreen shoud not be used on babies under 1 year old. I was also told to keep my son out of direct sunlight until 1 year old. I guess the whole sunscreen thing is bad because babies put their hands and arms and feet in their mouths and this means they would be ingesting the sunscreen. At least, that's what I was told. If you find something that is good to use on babies under 1 year, please let me know!

I used an Avon one with my son and he did fine with it, I tried it first on his foot to make sure he didn't have a reaction from it and he didn't. but i would check with his doctor to they would be able to tell you more. hope this helps you out
