At what age & how did you transition your baby out of the swaddle at night? My daughter is almost 5 months old & sleeps wonderfully when she is swaddled. However, if she happens to wiggle her arms out of the swaddle, it wakes her & she won't go back to sleep until she's re-swaddled.

We swaddle my LO until he was 6 weeks, he would always fight out of it so we decided to put him in his grow bags and it was the best decision as he can now stretch out, however we also had to move him into his bigger cot and was too big for moses basket so we timed them together. Maybe make the day time sleeps with arms out and night arms in and see how he goes?

My LO was 4.5 months. We weaned him gradually - one arm out, then both, then Halo Sleepsack. If your LO is rolling, then it's important to stop swaddling for safety reasons.

Once my lo started trying to roll over around 4 months I did not feel comfortable with him being swaddled. What I did was the first couple of nights I left one arm out, then both arms free and then just took it off completly, and since it was winter I started using a sleep sack. Its going to hard but she will get used to it

I guess it just depends on the baby. My baby was done swaddling at about 2 months or maybe even a month and a half. They usually let you know when they don't want to be swaddled anymore. They will start kicking out of it. Good luck:)

I never swaddled my son, I didn't have money for the special swaddle blanket things. But, I lay a receiving blanket over him (light enough for him to move himself), and then over that I take a bigger/heavier blanket and lay it across him just under his arm pits, then I tuck it along side his crib mattress.

Aww...well it sounds like she might just have to get use to the change, break the habbit, she is deff. old enough to not be swaddled and soon she will be moving all of the place so now is a great time to transition her...she will probably cry but after a few night she will get used to it! Just try putting her to bed maybe half swaddled (arms out) one night and see if she falls asleep then dont swaddle the next night..it will take some time and trial and error but she will learn pretty quickly!
