The dreaded baby weight!!!

I am 10 weeks post pregnancy and VERY frustrated with the weight loss already! I know,I know,it takes 9 months to put on all the weight. I lost 15lbs with in the first 2 wks and was feeling great and then I gained 5lbs back. I'm breastfeeding and running up to 6 mi. a week,keeping up with a 3yr old and taking care my new baby. You would think that would be enough to see some weight loss,but NOTHING! I would love to hear from anyone who may be experiencing the same thing or have any advice. I have been paying more attention to my diet. I was so proud of myself for only gaining 25lbs for my second pregnancy since I gained 40lbs with my first and kept 10 of those lbs.I don't expect to look like I did before kids. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin.Suggestions welcomed!

i've lost alot of weight but still feel like i could lose more. when i got pregnant i was 195 lost about 20 lbs in the first 2 trimesters gained about 20 back and when i went in for my 2 day check up(i had alot of complications so i was always going to the doctor) i was down to 170 and am now down to 160. i'm thinner than before i got pregnant but i still have some more to lose, so i guess i'm in the same boat as you, except i don't exercise that much.

I know how you feel! My son is almost 6 months old, and I still have about 20 lbs to lose. I gained 45, lost 30 in the first month, then gained back 5. I just went on a big shopping trip with friends and bought NOTHING and almost cried every time I looked in the mirror. I'm starting to get pretty depressed about it. I've been using my elliptical machine every day and going for plenty of walks, with no results. Now I'm looking into taking some fitness classes. I'm so not happy with the way I look and I need to do something about it quick! I hope you have some luck in the coming months with your weight loss!

thank you. i thought i was the only one. 10 weeks? don't worry. my baby is 5 1/2 mos. and i have 10 lbs to lose. i put on 30--lost 23 the first week--then up abut 5. i am nursing and live in new york...also stay at home. the winter had me inside and not moving much.
i know how you feel. i want to feel comfortable again!! i'm more active now that spring is here. my advice is to try not to stress out. you are just 10 weeks pp. it's spring and your body naturally wants to shed it's winter weight. eat spring foods (greens and astringent veggies, drink dandelion root tea and plenty of water) you might to eat more if you are very active. also...check your thyroid. sometimes your hormones are just balancing out. ...yoga is helpful as well.
hope this helps :-) everyone is different...i'm sure we'll both get back down in due time.

Breast feeding is great to help lose weight, just exercise the best way for you but I personally used the old fashioned exercise ball did sit ups started at 20 now up to 175 just increase as you feel comfortable and for the leg weight I looked on the internet and just stuck with run on on the spot but bring the knee up to my chest as possible then laying on one side doing leg lifts then switching sides and for all of this increase as you go and drink lots an lots of water.

I was under my pre pregnancy weight for my second child 2 weeks later I know some people can not and should not exercise this early I did exercise the day after I had my son but alot of it is because I have Osteo arthritis and it seems to help the pain somewhat when it isnt to bad to exercise to begin with



Another plus for exercising is when you are pushing the baby stroller up hill during walks my whole way home is up hill also during some exercizes I put my son in his snuglee for extra weight plus he loves it!!! I actually play exercise alot you can look up exercizes with the baby and find what works for you..

Just something to add we are all differant what works for one may not work for you so please dont be hard on yourself but good luck

You might be doing too much. If you are breastfeeding a 10 week old, keeping up with your 3 yr old and running that much your body may feel like it needs to hold on to what it has to provide enough for both you and your baby. I would suggest tone it down a little. I gained 37 pounds with my pregnancy and was so tired I couldn't exercise as much as I did before my baby was born (I was doing an hour of cardio/strength training 5-6 times per week before my daughter was born). Once she came I could only find the energy to workout 3-4 times per week and I breastfed my daughter. As long as you are eating well, drinking plenty of water, and exercising it will come off. But again, your body may be holding on to the weight because you are doing too much. It's always a good idea to give your body a day off in between workouts to give your muscles the chance to rebuild.
