my 3 month old has developed a problem in the past couple of weeks. he doesnt have colic at all and is on alimentum formula and does great on it after rying basically all of them. what is happening is that more than an hour after he feeds and burps he is throwing up this clear, acidic stuff that obviously has a bad taste. sometimes it just comes out, but sometimes he is retching. does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

Jennifer, it may seem like 1/2 the bottle, but you have to keep in mind that it mixes with saliva and makes it seem like so much more. I would say this could be reflux. The pediatrician but my son a medication for this and it helps sometimes. My son also spits up clear liquid, I just thought it was my breast milk. My son also retches, scretches, artches his back, and is fussy and sometime screams before spitting up. Those are all signs and symptoms of reflux. Mention it to your child's pediatrician. The medication has tremendously, my son would nurse ever hr from between 4 and 6 a.m. until between 10 and noon. then he would do another cluster feeding between 6 p.m. and 10 or 11 p.m., now that he is on the medication he nurses once when he wakes and is content until about 10 or 11 a.m., he does a few feedings between 6p.m. and 11p.m., but not as much. Good luck ladies!! Call the Pediatrician!

My Baby is 4 months now and I've tried like 5-6 different kinds of formula and he still throws up on all of them even the soy ones. The only time he doesn't throw up is if he drinks and than goes to sleep at night it stays down, but if he drinks and goes for a nap when he gets up he will throw uip maybe not right away but soon after and when he starts to hiccup like half the bottle comes out I'm not sure what to do can anyone help does anyone have some suggestions?

Have you had him checked for acid reflux? It's just a suggestion.
