My daughter is 3 months old and has pretty much out grown her bassinet, my husband and I want to move her into her crib. Just wondering if anyone has good tips (like do you just let your baby cry herself to sleep) or is there better methods that helped you moms transition from bassinet to crib.

I had a bassinet that was like a basket. When I started transitioning from bassinet to crib, I put the bassinet in the crib for a week and then just put my son right in the crib and took the bassinet away. He was fine. I figured he'd get used to the new space while still being in his comfort zone.

I moved my daughter into her crib at 3 months. Leading up to the transition I would put her in her crib for naps and to just hang out at times. I would play with her in the crib so she could get used to being in it and know that it was a good place to be. Once I actually made the switch she did great.

My sister suggested to me for my kiddo [I'm nursing so he sleeps next to me for now] for him to sleep where he normally does at night and for naps put him in his crib so he doesn't wonder what the heck is going on. That's what she did with hers [all 7!] and she never had a problem.

Both of my boys went into the crib at about 6 weeks of age. First, they were big babies (8#120z and 8#6oz). Secondly, neither one like being swaddled. I didn't have any problems with them startling themselves awake when not being swaddled until the 6 week mark. Then they got upset because they were hitting the side of the bassinet. They transitioned very easy because an arm throw no longer woke them up. For naps I ended up using the cry-it-out method after none of the others worked for me.

i put mt daughter in her crib at 4 months cuz her bassinet broke and i wasnt going to buy her another one...but she will be fine just dont make it seem so big for her cuz shes use to small places and if she crys just let her cry for no longer then 10 mins that what i did and now she loves her crib
