Trying to find the perfect 3 in 1 Car Seat???

I'm a bit confused when people are saying they don't think you'll find one with all 3 things. I realize you posted in June but I have seen 3-in-1 everywhere! You are/were looking for a rear facing, forward facing, and a booster all in one??
Examples: Safety 1st - All-in-One Convertible Car Seat, Salt and Pepper
Graco - Nautilus 3-in-1 Multi-Use Car Seat, Bravo
Cosco - Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat, Hammer
...and so many more. All found at Wal-mart and I've seen them at many other places. Good luck to all!

You should look at Britax, they are pricey but they are so worth it! Safe and durable!

Hi Tara, I dont think you are going to find a trio carseat that does those three things. The reason being is that when a child is facing backwards the impact that is put on the rear facing carseat tends to be of that from the back of the carseat. If you had a three in one, a rear facing that aslo is a booster, the middle section that joins the two parts together would most likely be pulled apart from an impact and your child would get pushed downwards and then backwards through that gap also being strangled by the straps as they would be joined from the top of the seat and also from the booster section.

The reason they can go forward facing with this combination is because if an impact was to happen your child would get pushed upwards and forwards therefore being held by the straps. There is also the support of the normal car seat that would help take the impact for a front facing carseat where as there is nothing right behind your son to take the in pact if he was to be rear facing in this type of seat.



my daughter has a carseat designed by the sports make 'puma'. its brill. goes from birth to three/four years depending on weight. think its 80kg max.this will last her a while and boosters can be bought cheaply anyway when you will finally need one :)

You won't find a true 3 in 1 that fits those requirements but most 3 in 1 make crappy boosters anyway. The graco my ride is a good seat and has a comparable shell height of the britax marathon. It also rear faces to 40 lbs so if your son is heavy that may be a good choice. They are a good price to. Walmart has them in most stores now so take your son and try it out. Remember you will lose about an inch once it is installed in your car.

You are the second person to recommend this seat and it does make sense! I already have a graco travel system which I really like as well. I heard this seat wasn't pricey either which is also nice! I will check them out. Thank you for your input!!

i got my son a graco my ride 65 and it's rear facing 5-35 lbs and forward facing from 35-65 lbs so i'll have to get another but a booster is cheaper than a whole other car seat

Thanks Laura! I had a feeling that I wouldn't be able to find one with everything I want, I think they do that on purpose so that you end up buying another one. I am in Canada so no Target but Walmart has good prices. Thanks for your input!
