and for colic, try gripe water -- worked miracles for me. as well as burping her a bit more than before (might take 2-3-4 times instead of once) and then about an hour or 2 after each meal, give her plenty of tummy time to stimulate her to move her legs which would help her pass gas. or do running exercises with her (except don't force it), again would stimulate her bowel movements and will hopefully help to relieve colic.

however if it's acid reflux, you would have to consult your pediatrician to see if just sitting her up during and after feeding is enough or you need to give her meds. my son was taking a medication for acid reflux -- had to give it by mouth every 8 hrs, however it worked miracles for us. good luck!

sleep her with you on the couch or in bed.my partner and i used to do this as she slept better for the first few months then of course in her own cot so she didnt get too used to it. now i kind of miss sleeping with my little girl shes 16 months. not sure if this will help with collic never had a collicky baby

try swaddling your baby in receiving blanket to simulate the experience being inside of you and also put either your t-shirt or ur husband's in the crib -- something that has ur or his scent. also, at that age babies can be afraid of large spaces, so you gotta teach them that crib is a fun place to be.

start doing it during the day (and not for a nap but to play), i do suggest using brighter linens with bigger patterns -- at birth babies see in black & white and can't see far, nor can they see pastel colors -- so if everything you have is in pale baby pink or beige or light blue, the baby just sees a blur. i had bright colors in the crib (fisher price safari) with large patterns on the crib bumper & bright-colored animals on the mobile -- he loved just laying in there 'talking to them" for good 15-20 minutes at a time. and then at night, it was no problem going to bed because he already enjoyed being in there. good luck!

First off, like the other mother said, she spent 9 months getting ready for this world, it is going to take her a while to adjust. Here is what we do for my little one that is just over two weeks. First she eats, gets a new diaper, a good burp and then she gets swaddled in her blanket and before you know it she is out. Second, I would say that she could have some acid reflux, dont lay her flat after she eats. If she has a bouncy seat or a swing....or you can hold her upright for a little while (15 minutes) or so after she eats. Be patient momma, it will all come around and before no time you will be sleeping. :)

Hi Leslie. I had the same problem with my little man, who is now 4 months old. Try a "swoddler" It just bundles them up real tight and cozy, as if they were still in your arms. It worked like a charm for me. They have them in all sizes, they come in handy on those cold night! good luck!

If she has gas, try probiotic drops, they are great for the digestive system and safe for babies. They usually take about 3-4 days to start working, so in the meantime you can try Oval drops which also help with gas. As for the being put down, although I have used controlled crying, and picking up/putting down method, I wouldn't recommend that yet. She is still getting used to life on the outside. I didn't start these until my DD was about 7 weeks, which some people still believe is too young, but you have to do what is best for your family and you. Some people also recommend having baby in the room with you for a few months, but I did not want to do that as I feel I would have lost my mind hearing every noise she made and not getting any sleep. Again do what works best for you and your family. Good luck!
