That's where you have to pull out the "I carried the baby for 9 months + labor" cards. It should help wear them down eventually to the name you want :-)

My daughters name is Aleighsia-Rose (pronounced Alicia). I came up with the spelling myself as I liked the name but wanted it to be different at the same time :) i love unusual names too but getting my babys father to agree to them was too much hassle lol :P

Good for you wanting an original name. I've always appreciated that my parents gave me a unique name, and I've tried to carry that tradition on with my children as well! I suggest you take any names you like and look up their meanings on a site like baby names.com or something... having a cool meaning adds a whole new layer of awesomeness! http://www.modernhomemakers.com

After naming our first daughter Isabella I'd like something a little less popular for our second. I like Lila and Elluka or Iluka, haven't decided on the spelling yet.

The Best thing you should do love is get a baby naming book or even just look on the internet and whatever name stands out for you choose that one thats what I did with my daughter and I only choose a girls name before finding out the sex and just happened I had a girl...

I wasn't one who had my kids names picked when I was a child myself like some women and I found choosing names for both kids harder than I could have imagined. We ended up naming out daughter Jazmyn. Her father has like a one of a kind name, which he hates! And my name is spelled Jaime vs the usual Jamie. So Daddy actually came up with her name and while I was in labor I had my mom on the hospital's dry erase board helping me decide on the unique spelling. My son's name is Antwan. A strong name that i found to be uncommon and spelled a bit differently. He was supposed to be Marquis but when I saw him, he didn't look like a Marquis. Had the fam was calling him by the wrong name when he was first born b/c they didn't know i changed my mind. LOL Good luck & have fun finding just the right name! :)

Hey there Priscilla. I have a unique name & honestly have found it to be somewhat annoying at times. I found that people have a hard time pronouncing it & I can't tell you how many times I've had to explain how & where I got my name. I would suggest to keep it simple. I would advise to make sure you've heard it at least once. Just my advice...

You can create a name of your own with a combination of your name and your boyfriends. I created my own for my little girl. Her dads name is Carlos and my name is Melissa, so I combined the first few letters of our names. "CARMELY" Everyone loves it!

Lyla (Lie-la) is the name we have picked out for our daughter, I found when trying to find a unique name it was hard because its the trend right now to name kids uncommon names which has in the end made a lot of them common. We named our 5 month old son Brayden, when we picked it out we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl but NO ONE had that name, then as people in our town found out they were having boys I now know at least 6 or 7 people that named their sons Brayden.
