My baby daughter Ashleigh is 25 weeks (5.5 months). From 5 weeks she slept through from 10pm until 6am. Then she turned 12 weeks and it all changed.

She was always nursed to sleep then I would put her in her bassonette and she was gone for the night until the above mentioned age.

She now doesn't sleep in her cot at all. As soon as she is put down she wakes and cries. Its almost like she has parking sensors on her bum!

I cuddle her and try over and over to put her down but it's always the same. In the end i cuddle her in my bed just to get sleep. Sometimes she wakes and wants nursing, but more for comfort rather than hunger, Some night I spend all night laid next to her with my boob hanging out like a dummy with a heartbeat!

She is weaned and has 3 meals per day and lots of breast feeds. She refuses to take a bottle though :(

She all so doesn't really nap in the day much unless i go out in the car. Or with the pram.

She just doesn't seem able to go into that deep sleep like she used too!

I have 4 other kids and now I've had enough. Time to sort this out!

I've read that consistent naps during the day help with night-time sleeping. Still trying to get a nap "routine" with my 4.5 mo twins.... One is sleeping up to 6 hours a night and the other... not so much (still waking up every 2 hours throughout the night). Just a prime example of how every baby really is different, since their schedules started out the same. Anyway, The idea is that if babies don't get enough sleep, they actually get over-tired, making it difficult for them to fall asleep and stay asleep for a long period of time...

Although, she could have been getting sick - I noticed with my first daughter that she would get clingy before she showed any physical symptoms of being sick...

She doesn't take names really during the day. Well she seems to take 20 minute cat naps. Some times going through from 7am until 4pm before a nap. Then awake after 20!

She might sleep for another power nap about 7 but I'll be lucky when she does!

My boob is out permenatly feeding during the night at the moment.

This won't help for the night(I went through the same thing with my first, he slept in bed with us for a couple of years. I didn't care if he was comfort nursing or whatever.). For the naps tho, have you tried skipping that nap or pushing it up a bit? With our second, it was the same. 30 mins. the max. We pushed it up and that made a Hugh difference. He's been having one nap a day since he was a bit older than a year. If it was more than that, than his nap would be very short. Good luck, I hope something works!

I had a similar issue with my daughter when she was about 7 months (now nearly 4). She had a few bad nights due to us travelling from the UK to South Africa and I started breast feeding in the night more than before to keep her quiet when sleeping in other people's houses. Basically she went sleeping through to feeding hourly in a matter of days. I felt like a sow with her piglet attached! Unfortunately the only thing that worked was for her to go cold turkey. After getting her to sleep I went to stay with a relative and came back first thing the next morning to feed. My husband stayed with her and gave her cuddles when she woke. Once she realised the breast wasn't an option, she stopped waking. It took two nights. It was hideous but slept through from that time.

I feel your pain sista! Its all so confusing. As soon as i though i got it all figured out...HA!

I have 5 month old and he has been perfect little baby that only cried when he is tired or hungry, but that all changed 3 weeks ago. He become fussy all the time. He does not want to be put down on his back, mobiles don't do it any more, bouncers- nothing! He use to take binky to sooth him self to sleep, now binky just pisses him off even more. He seams to only find a comfort and peace on my boob! That's how i have to put him to sleep. Pediatrician says that he started to teeth and she also recommended to start introducing solids to him. We started to give him some Rice cereal and some fruits and veggies from Earth Natural. Now i don't know his cry's anymore. I don't know when he's crying because he has gas in his tummy,or is he teething or he is sleepy. I don't even know any of his schedule anymore. He only takes 10-15 mins naps at the time and wakes up crying!

I hope its just a short faze. Keep me posted if you figured out some ways. I ll do the same!
