I was just curious as to how much weight everyone gained during their pregnancy and if they've been able to lose some or most of it.

When I was having my son, I put on 60 lbs and ended up being almost 200 lbs. So far, I've only been able to lose 30 lbs.

With my first I gained about 40 lbs and lost 30 (over the course of 2 years or so), then with my second I gained 25 lbs and have lost 6 so far (he's 6 months). I'm not one of those women that just lose the weight - I have to work for it. I try to keep in mind that this is a season of life and the weight will come off, if I make healthy choices most of the time, even if it take s a couple of years.

I know I gained at least 61 pounds. I say at least because I don't know what I weighed prior to my first prenatal checkup. That was my weight when I was about a month pregnant I guess. I hated scales prior to pregnancy! I lost 30 pounds before I left the hospital and seem to be stuck there. I think I may have lost another 5 or so since I left the hospital despite my best efforts at eating somewhat healthy and breastfeeding. However I haven't done any exercising yet.

With my first son I gained 88 pounds. It took me 2 years to get back to my prepregnancy weight of 150 lbs. I got pregnant with my second son and gained 60 lbs. But, now he's 1 and I"m pregnant for the third time. I had only lost about 30 lbs. I think the more pregnancies I go through, the harder it is for me to lose weight. It just depends on you and your body type. But hey, you'll get there

I had gained 74 at my last appointment before I went into labor 6 days later, so I'm not positive about the final total. My daughter's now 3 months old and I have 16 pounds to go... I'm not going to lie, I haven't excercised at all, not even a sit up... I'm too exhausted. However, I was breastfeeding and I think that's what did it for me. She's pretty muched weened at this point since I had to go back to work 2 weeks ago- I'll nurse her at night and on weekends when I can, if she's willing to take it. I will say that I've got very little appetite since I stopped nursing her exclusively, so the weight is still coming off for me. It's definitely slowed down though, it was much quicker in the beginning.

Good luck to everyone!

The vast majority of my weight gain was water---I gained almost 40 pounds but lost 30 pounds within the first couple of weeks. Taking long walks helped a lot at first. That, and paying attention to my eating habits.

I net gained less than 20 lbs, but lost a LOT from being sick in the first tri. I was back to my pre-pregnacy weight almost immediately but it's not, uh, distributed the same way. I still need all new pants, and I'm still not used to my new shape.

With my 1st, I started out at 127, gained 32 pounds, and afterwards lost all but 10 lbs, really quick, and then I lost the rest +5 extra pounds by 4 or 5 months.

My 2nd, I started out at 120, gained 31 pounds, lost all but 10 lbs by 2 weeks, and then lost the rest +5 extra pounds by 4 months,

My 3rd, I started out at 120, gained 36 pounds, lost 15 pounds by 3 weeks, and plateau-ed for about a month, and finally lost 10 pounds from 6-10 weeks, and now at week 12, I still have 10 pounds to lose.

I gained about 55 lbs. My baby is 5 months old and I have about 10 lbs left to lose. Seems to be coming off very slowly even with diet and exercise...

I gained 29 lbs with my first and I have 10 to go until I'm down to my p/p weight. I'm 8 weeks postpartum. Even though I feel ok about the rate at which I've been losing weight, nothing is where it was and everything is covered in cellulite....ewwww

Oh yeah...Your middle will not just go down with weight loss. Even if you didn't have a C-section, your skin and muscles were stretched so much, that it could be a long time, if ever before it looks like it did pre-baby. Look at that sweet baby next to you and tell yourself that it is worth it!

I was also 105 lbs before I was pregnant and gained 27 lbs. I lost 17 immediately after birth but I still have 10 to lose after 8 weeks. I am just starting to work out again doing bot camp, pilates and tennis so I am hoping to lose it ...I am giving myself a year to get back.

Please don't stress about the weight right away. If you are breastfeeding you need at least 500 extra calories a day just for that. It really does burn extra calories for you, so that is the easiest way to loose weight. Don't sacrifice the best for your baby so you can loose a few pounds. I was told by my Dr that it takes 9 months to put on the weight, so give yourself at least that long to loose it. From experience I have found that it is SO HARD, to loose much weight and keep it off until I started having regular periods again. Hormones have a lot to do with weight, and it takes awhile for them to get straightened out after you have a baby. Please don't try to loose all the weight by the time your baby is just 2-3 months old. That's not healthy for either of you. You just had a baby, so give yourself a break. :) It will happen.

I gained 30 pounds with #2. She weighed 10.2 at birth so I lost quite a bit right away. She is 6mths old now and I am 10 pounds below my prebaby weight HOWEVER, my prebaby clothes still don't fit right. Because she was so darn big, I have all this horrible stretched out skin plus the c-section poochy thingy that hasn't gone away yet. The scales say I've lost all the weight but I'm wondering where the pounds came off from - my toes?

I'm still nursing which I think makes you as hungry as when you are pregnant. I eat lots of snacks during the day, some healthy some not so healthy. I'm lucky to live in a place where I can walk just about anywhere. So, I take my 3yr old and the stroller and off we go. I'm going to be out of luck when it gets cold - I hate cold weather.

Hi, I gained 80lbs with my daughter. Very traumatizing. I was about 130lbs then went to 210lbs. I lost 50lbs pretty much right away and now am struggling to lose even 5lbs. Still have 25-30 to go, it's hard. Good luck.

weight is such a problem to me. I have always been so tiny and right before I found out I was pregnant I was at my heaviest so that didnt help me at all.I was always abou 105-110 lbs. I gained exactly 45 pounds and have lost about 25 of it. In the beginning I was just hoping it was go away on its own, but 6 months later it is still there. I finally was fed up and joined the gym. Its wonderful, I get time alone and It makes me feel good about myself. we still need to not forget about ourselves too. I will not weigh myself for atleast 2 weeks, so I may have already lost some weight.

Has anyone had a c-section and have that lovely little pouch above the incision? Will this ever go away?

I gained 45 and have lost 20 in the first 2 months. I tried to breastfeed, but he wasn't gaining weight so I had to stop. I haven't had time to exercise yet, but now that the baby is sleeping better I hope to start really dropping the weight!

With my first, I gained 18 pounds, and then lost 21. With my second, I gained 14 pounds and have lost 25. I drink lots of water and I am pumping so that does help a lot. Exercise and eating right will help also.

I always heard that same thing. Apparently all this breastfeeding that I'm doing was supposed to make these pounds disappear so quickly, and yet, here it remains around my middle. I have a feeling that it'll all go away when I'm not so worried about eating and making sure that I'm getting the nutrients needed too breastfeed my son.

My son is 2 1/2 months old. I gained 53 pounds during my pregnancy. I've only lost 20, and I'm breastfeeding. Everyone told me it would come off so fast since I was going to BF...they lied! I am a lard butt. Kudos on the 30, I seem to have plateaued at 20.

I gained about 50 lbs also - I think Im about 15 lbs from pp weight. It is definitly a struggle, and you always have to think about what you are putting in your mouth ( or at least I fight with it every day!!) I am nursing also so, I have to think about what Im feeding baby!

I gained 54 lbs. I weighed 104 before I got pregnant. My sone is 4 months old and I have lost 48 lbs. I mainly do walking and 200 crunches a night. I'm down to 110 and would like to stay at the weight. I'm sure you will lose the weight, it just takes time and a little work. Good Luck!
