My first baby (girl) I believe started to crawl at around 6 months, and my second baby(boy) started crawling around 6-7 months after showing him a few times he got the hang of it. My third (girl) never crawled nor did she really roll, at one point she scooted while sitting but that was it until walking. Every baby is different, as long as they don't get way behind they usually catch up in a flash. Enjoy not having to chase them every where why you can, soon you will be saying why did I want my baby to crawl.

Not all babies crawl. Donnie crawled on two knees and an elbow up until 9 months

My son never crawled. He rolled and "army-crawled" then just popped up and started walking. My daughter is 7 months and trying really hard to crawl. But I think she'll probably skip crawling too because she is RUNNING in her walk-around these days and standing strong with little assistance. So don't worry if your child isn't crawling yet...they may skip it altogether ;) Best of luck ♥

Some babies just don't crawl at all. I thought my daughter was going to be one of them, because she had started rolling across the room until she would bump into things, and then roll the other way again. But she is just now starting to prop herself up on her hands and knees, and she will be 6 months this week.

I think it's anywhere between 6 and 10 months. My son is nearly 7 months and trying to crawl whereas my friend's daughter started crawling when she was about 10 months old. However, some babies skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking and others bumshuffle! =]

All kids are different! My eldest rolled from four months, crawled at five and walked at ten and a half. The boy also rolled at four months and then kind of army crawled/rolled until he fnally dragged his butt off the floor at eleven months and I don't think he's stopped running since! (he's nearly two) Yours may prefer the good old butt- shuffle, you never know, that's what makes it so much fun! And Candice is right, crawling isn't a milestone, it was in the papers here a few months back and a six month old had decided to by-pass the lot and was walking! Have fun.x

interesting fact: Kids don't need to crawl. there is no milestone for crawling. all kids will find away to move around until they are strong enough to walk. Anything from the traditional crawl, to the but scoot, to the army crawl (one knee, one foot). Even if they never crawl, it will not have any impact on their ability to walk. :)

There is a range of "normal" but even then some babies come in earlier and some later. Both of my girls crawled at 6 months but some kids it's earlier and I think all the way up until 10 months is considered "normal".

Most babies learn to crawl at different stages depending on each child. The same with walking. My first never crawled she would drag herself across the room at around 6 months old, she would pull herself up against the couches n stand up. She skipped the who crawling n started walking at 9 months old. Whereas my boys both started crawling at 6 months n were confident crawlers by 7 months. It really depends on each child:)
