i had alot of false labor starting about 3 weeks before i had my daughter. i wasnt in pain but i would just feel tightening in my belly. it was very fustrating because they werent all over the place they would stay like 1 hour apart for a few hours then go away then the next time 30min apart for a few hours then go away then 20min then 10min. then finally the day before i had my daughter i didnt feel those tightening feelings i just was feeling uncomfortable all day and i have a little bit of back pain on one side so i thought it cant be labor cuz its on one side so i must be just sore. it was my hubbys bday that day and so be had family over so i only went to bed at like 12am and right before i went to bed i felt that tightening feeling again but thought must just be false labor cuz i still had a little less then a week till my due date. at 3:45am i woke up feeling a urgent feeling to pee but when i stood up my water broke. i wasnt in any pain and a half hour after that i went to the hospital and only on the way there did i start feeling the tightening but no pain.. after a hour pain started and well from the time my water broke till the time taylor was born was 10 1/2 hours

Well, with labour you will get continous contractions like every 10minutes or so. Goodlck and brace yourself. Though i was induced because i was at 41weeks.

Nope, I was just the sme as always...darn uncomfortable....and I was looking for every sign possible as I went 8 days over. When it did start though it was just like mild period pains and I was thinking 'is this it?', over the next day they progressed in strength & duration, with the timing decreasing.
GOOD LUCK!!

I had terrible back pains, bad enough to make me cry. I was only comfy laying on my left side,. I was high risk and my Doc induced me at 38 weeks. You will deffinately know when you are having a contraction though, its a mestrul cramp 10X worse and your whole belly will get super hard. ~Good luck

i'm 38 week preg with my 2nd child and i am feeling every single pain under the sun (well...it seems like that to me). The tightening, sharp pain in my lower pelvis, lower back pain and period pain like pain. My first pregnancy i had to get induced so i didn't have to go through the 'natural' labour (and i didn't have any initial feelings to make me think i was going into labour) but this time around, even though i am scheduled for a c-sect again i can't help but think i will go into natural labour first because of everything i am feeling. Good luck. It may be scary but it also will be the best experience, so relax and try to enjoy every aspect of it!

A wk before all my babies were born I went into nesting mode. It was weird I like things clean so I naturally clean alot but it was different these times. For example 1 wk before I went inot labour I made moved out of our house n stayed at one of my sisters renovated houses , n during this time I mad my husband repaint the whole house poor thing. We moved all our furniture out the house into the my sisters, as I was planning on selling the house, but I wasn't happy in her house n wanted to move back into ours. My poor hubby repainted the whole house then we moved into our house moved all our furniture back n that very day I statred having contractions. We managed to set up the house n get the crib set up in our room. That night I went into hosp n after 12 hrs of intense labour which ended in an emergency section my baby boy finally arrived. I had many braxton hicks contractions from an early satge about 6 months preggers, but they became more regular especially the wk before I went into labour. With my contractions my whole tummy would tighten n would feel rock hard and last about a minute, it was very painful. Whereas my braxton hicks were uncomfortable more than painful and would subside after a few seconds.
Good luck Kelsey it wont be long now n u will have a beautiful baby to hold n love and care for.
lol how annoying is it that u can't sleep on ur tummy, I love my tummy too n it was hard to get comfortable on my sides. Soon enough u will be back to sleeping on ur tummy;))

At that stage I felt a strange sensation in my pelvic region as if the baby was trying to "crawl out" LOL it was an awfully strange feeling like tickling. The day I went into labour I felt fantastic, on top of the world I went visiting all my relatives and was feeling great! 9:30pm that night It happened :) They say you clean a couple of days before you go into labor as a nesting instinct... But I constantly clean, even now so I am not sure if it is true, but it does make sense... You poor darlin, I bet you are starting to feel like "get this bloody baby out of me!!" It'll happen when it happens :) Goodluck its an amazing journey. xx

I didn't feel anything unusual before my son was born, except the morning my water broke. (I had back labor, so throughout my whole pregnancy, I only have maybe 5 Braxton Hicks contractions, and when I was in labor, I didn't feel my stomach tightening or anything.) At around 2:30 AM (of the day I gave birth) I got out of bed to use the bathroom. I got back into bed and I was feeling a little weird, but I couldn't put my finger on it. It wasn't pain or contractions, just weird. (I remember thinking that I was going to tell my husband that I wasn't going to go grocery shopping that day because I felt strange.) But then I got up at 2:40 AM thinking I had to go to the bathroom again, I didn't, my water just broke. LOL

I got slight cramping on and off for the month before delivering. I also couldn't sleep very well. When you have contractions, you'll know.

2 Days before I gave birth to my daughter, I had pains in my lower back about every 5-15 minutes. The pain just seemed to come for about half a minute and then disapper. It wasnt enough pain to make me cry but it was enough pain to when I would have to stop what I was doing until it was gone. I hope everything goes well for you :). When my friend went into labour she said her pain was bad and it was in her stomach, so people experience it differently :)

I had a lot of sharp pains in my belly about 2 weeks before my baby boy was born, he was also 5 days early, so the pains started about 3 weeks before my due date. Then about 3 days before I went into lobor my back hurt so bad that I couldn't stand or walk for more than a few minutes. I also just "knew" a couple of weeks before my due date that my little man would be coming early.
Hope this helps. It's the best experience ever!!
