What did you start feeding your babies when it was time to introduce human food opposed to baby food

My daughter is 9 months old. It is time to start introducing soft chewable unchokable food. I am curious as to what you mommies use with your children or did use with your children when they were younger. She is not real good at chewing food yet, so I want to give her foods that she will not choke on. Any ideas?

If she's still a little lacking in the tooth department, try some of the following:

Applesauce

Yogurt

Oatmeal

Watermelon (seedless, which is more expensive - but I'd check for seeds anyway)

Creamed corn

Rice pudding

Lightly toasted bread with a bit of cream cheese

Mashed potatoes

There's also a wide array of baby snacks by Gerber - little flavored rice puffs, wagon wheels, arrowroot cookies, and so on.
