What is the best milk to give to a baby?

My son is 11 months old and I am trying to take him off of formula. I've always been told to give him whole milk first, but I don't like the idea of giving him that much fat. Is it okay to give him milk with a different fat content?

You need to check with your doctor. Most of the time doctors want kids to be on whole milk from age 1-2 yrs for that fat content. The fat content helps with brain development, so it is important that they get that. When they are that little their bodies are growing so fast that they need that extra fat to help with their development. Talk with your doctor and let him know your concerns. He will be able to tell you what is best and the reasons why that is the best for your child.
