I use Baby Oil to prevent it, so maybe just using it with the cradle cap might help

All 3 of my children had cradle cap and with the first 2 i just rubbed vasaline onto their scalps in the morning then left it to soften until bath time and just washed there heads as normal and this worked with them both, my son however has it worse then his sister and although vasaline works it always comes back just as bad after a few days so have started using the dentinox cradle cap shampoo on him and that is keeping it clear.

I'm with Laura - olive oil works like a charm!

Emily - I've been told many times do not use dandruff shampoo - there are chemicals in it that are too much for a baby's sensitive scalp.

Jst before bath timeI massaged some olive oil in for half an hour then sed a warm wet flannel to bathe the head. In the bath I washed hair as normal with ordinary shampoo and used fresh water to rinse the hair - rather than water from the bath. thistook all cradle cap away in one treatment!

I have to say baby oil has always worked just fine for my 2 and its pretty cheap. The trick is to let it sit on their head for awhile. I usually put it on right before a nap, that way it soaks in while they are sleeping and they are in a good mood after the nap. Just use a baby brush ans a small amount of effort and it comes right off.

Unscented Baby oil and a headlice comb. let the oil soak and soften the crusty bits, then comb close to the scalp.... but be gentle and dont force the flakes. Just do a little everyday. and when its gone, make sure you massage bubs head when you wash his/her hair... helps prevent it coming back so bad....

I used dandruff shampoo on my son once a week, and it cleared it right up!

I used baby oil on mine but they have a cradle cap kit out now. Eather would work just fine.
