Never did baby food. We started table food (babyled weaning) at 6 months and a week.

I gave my son the rice cereal at 3 months. But my son has a great pallet. I had to add pureed fruit in with it for him to like it. By 4 1/2 months he was eating pureed fruits and veggies. He is now almost 7 months and has been eating solid foods for over a month. He loves eating. Trying new foods is really exciting to him.

Pablum is baby cereal, I think its Nestle or Hinze that makes it. They have the rice, oatmeal, barley, mixed, cereal with fruits in it... its actually pretty good, I've known adults that don't mind it. In fact at one time when I was sick thats what I ate because it was soft... but of course for me I added a little sugar lmao

i started home made baby food at 6 months. started with high iron foods (chicken, baby cereals, pork, ground beef, lentils, beans, peas). He'll be 7 months on the 17th and we're just about to start veggies now.

My husband and I are both overweight, so we were really trying to hold out on introducing solid foods. We made it to about 5.5 months. By then, he just was not staying full on the bottle, so we started with the rice cereal. After about 2 weeks of rice cereal, we introduced a second cereal. That went on for about a week, and then we started introducing the stage one baby foods-I think we would intro one veggie, then one fruit, back and forth until he had been through all of the stage one foods. We then worked on the stage 2 foods. Soon he wanted what we were having and even though he didn't have any teeth (he is 14 months now and has 6) he managed what we gave him. He has pretty much been eating what we eat since 9 months I think! It seemed like once we introduced the foods, that's all he wanted. He was ready to be off the bottle by the time he was 11 months, but dad wasn't ready until I convinced him at about 13 months. I had already stopped feeding him a bottle! :) (Gotta love dads!) Anyway, my son is 14 months, and he pretty much eats what we eat. It is pretty great. He loves his starches.

I gave my son rice cereal for the first time at 3 months old and every 2 weeks tried a new type of cereal until he had tried every one plain and then started adding vegetables, adding only one at a time and then once we had tried all the veggies we did fruits. It's VERY important to let them try everything plain first so that if they have an allergic reaction you know right away what it is and you don't have to guess.

i breast fed my baby until she was six monthes then i started her on baby cereal for about two weeks then i added the baby gerber's, and now she's 9 monthes i give her a little of what ever the rest of us eat, i only cut it into little tiny bits, and she drinks out of a sippy cup, i guess as long as she has teeth and can eat finger foods on her own, u can start!

Ok, I have to ask, whats farex??? We started our daughter on rice pablum at about 4.5 months, went through the different grains then started veggies at about 6 months.... Her doctor said anytime between 4-6 months and said to watch for her cues for when to try

I started my daughter on rice cereal at about 8 weeks, give or take a week. We spoon-fed her just at night. We never put the cereal in a bottle--it ruins the nipples and increases the risk of choking. At 3 months we increased her feedings of cereal to include actual meals. When she was about 4-5 months old we started her on homemade, pureed fruits and veggies--the same things her dad and I were eating. We never bought babyfood in a jar; we always made our own. She was starting solids when she could pick things up with her fingers and put them in her mouth by herself--about 7-8 months old. Our doctor knew we did this and was okay with it, though it went against pediatric recommendations. We were fortunate to have an "old school" doc who left a lot up to the parents since we knew our daughter best. Since she was always within an ideal weight/weight gain for her age he never really questioned it. The one main reason doctors don't like infants to start too young is the higher rate of obesity that can come with early feeding. While there may be some correlation with obesity, it is not a set formula either. Some kids need the extra fuel for growing bodies! The problem comes, IMO, when parents force the food on their kids rather than letting their kids eat what they want and no more. We were always careful to pay attention to our daughter's hunger/full cues and abide by them. If your baby is hungry and tolerates the food well then feed them (but only until they tell you they are full)!.

About 5 months? I started him on Farex, then pear and banana flavoured farex, then mashed veggies, then mashed fruit. Then cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch and mashed veggies or pureed whatever we ate for dinner.

Marshall started rice cereal at 3 months on advice of my pediatrician. (and i wouldn't recommend anyone start this young unless your health care provider tells you to) he started eating mashed banana at about 4 months, soy yogurt at 5 months and full solids at 6 months. Again this was all done on my pediatricians advice as my son was not gaining much weight with formula and always seemed hungry after every feed

With my twins we started them on baby food and solids at about 4 months, and table food at about 9 months ( 7 and a half months adjusted). They were six weeks early.

With our youngest we just started him on baby food and cereal at four months. he'll be five months on the 12th and the twins are now two and a half.

I started my daughter on solids at 2 and a half months and she has been doing great with them she is almost 5 months old now. we had trouble finding a formula she could keep down. I have reacently started her on some solid foods that i eat and i chop up for her and she does great on them but i am getting negative reactions from friends and family. I also tried her with a half oz of 2% milk and she did great on it. I know friends that have done it as well and they had no problems but I do have other people getting on my case about it. I feel she is my daughter I make the choices for her since i am her mother but it bothers me that everyone is getting on me and saying nasty things to me.

My oldest son started on baby cereal at 8 weeks. My daughter started on baby cereal at 3.5 months. My youngest son (now 3.5 months) started on baby cereal at about 10 weeks. I didn't put the cereal in a bottle at all; we just went straight to feeding from the spoon. My oldest son and daughter both were on solids by 7 months.

I also didn't ask my pediatrician about starting the cereal for them. Here's the reason: they have guidelines they would like you to follow (i.e.: don't start baby food before 6 months) but not every baby falls into those guidelines. You know your baby better than anyone and only you can decide when it's safe/appropriate. I know they say starting food too early can cause food allergies but my children have none.

My son started 1 TBS rice cereal in his night bottles at 2 months. And gradually increased until at 3 months he ate rice cereal with a spoon. At 3 1/2 months he started 1 baby food at a time.
