I have not heard of feeding cereal through a bottle. That being said, as new moms, we hear a variety of things. I would suggest speaking to a pediatrician/family doctor and checking out this article: http://www.babycenter.ca/baby/startingso...

I find babycenter very helpful when I need to make important decisions. I guess you should also ask yourself why you think you need to add that. I have my son on Enfamil A+ exclusively and I am waiting until he is 6 months old to introduce solids. Good luck!

Dont worry I was confuesed too... Always go with your gut feeling. If you think that your baby might like it go ahead and try it. Watch for reactions and keep track of what you feed the baby and how much. If he wont like it he wont eat it... Good Luck

My son was started on that when he was 2 months, and my daughter was started on it when she was 3 months. Both my kids were eating more than a 'normal' child at their age so I put them on it. It all depends on baby. Some do well some don't. Just watch baby's ques.

Are you breastfeeding? If so, you should give your baby nothing but breastmilk for 6 months. If not, just read what other mothers have written about adding cereal to the bottle. With so many, it causes constipation. If your baby is acting like it is still hungry after reasonable large feedings, add cereal to their diet from a bowl with a spoon. I personally waited until my son was 5 and a half months old & was showing signs of wanting/needing solids before I started too introduce any type of solids, and I'm pleased I waited. A friend of mine decided that she hated the night feeds, and wanted her son to sleep longer and be less dependent on her for feeding.....so she started too wean him at 3 months old, and he now has a bowel problem, which her G.P & H.V has stated can be linked with her starting weaning too early.....
Each child is different, and everybody parents differently, I think it is a decision that only you can make as a Mummy.

Everything I've read said you should wait until they are at least 6 months old. check out http://www.cyh.com/HealthTopics/HealthTo... it's an Austrlaian government parenting help website (the feeding babies page). I hope this helps.

Well, putting cereal in the bottle can be a choking hazard because they can aspirate it, according to what i've read and what my doctor has told me. Also, their systems aren't ready for solid food yet, and there is concern in the pediatric literature that starting solids too early can lead to other problems later such as obesity.

If your baby suffers from reflux, that may be why the doctor told you to put cereal in the bottle. However, if your baby does not have reflux, I would wait until 4 months to start cereal at the earliest and then feed it to them on a spoon, not in the bottle. Hope that helps...good luck!

there i no problem with it if that is what you want to do. it helps them sleep longer but be weary it can make them confused as to why they are getting food through a bottle but this is very rare. all you can do is try good luck
