We started rice cereal at 4 1/2 months. Started stage one at 5 1/2 months and then a few weeks later started stage 2. Dr. says it isn't necessary to start that early and that starting at 6 months is more ideal. They say rice cereal to start with because it is easier to digest and will provide iron which is especially important in babies who are nursed. But he also said it isn't going to help baby sleep any better than formula or breast milk do.

We started rice cereal at 4.5 months and fruit and vegies at 5.5 months then meat at 6. hope that helps :)

my son is 5 1/2 month and i started him on baby rice at 4 1/2 month i new he was ready and was interested and he opened him mouth straight away and has never looked back he has all his root veg and fruits and even yogurt a typical day is bottle and oz of baby porridge for breakfast mixed veg and fruit for dinner and 5oz bottle then similar for tea then 7 oz bottle before bed at 8 then he sleeps through till 8 next morning so i no his getting enough food during day u will no when ur baby is ready hope this helps gud luck x

my son just turned 4 months and we had a doctors appointment about a week ago and he said to start him on rice cereal when he goes to bed..and then after about 2 weeks start giving it to him in the morning and in the evening instead of before bed. He said also we could start veggie baby food the next month so when my son is 5 months and then the month after start meats and save fruits for last because they will just eat fruit instead of everything else..
