I would try Similac before GoodStart, I had my son on GoodStart when I brought him home from the hospital and it constipated him. As soon as I switched him to Similac he was fine, Similac is the closest formula to breast milk.

my daughter started out on nestle goodstart, but her doctor wanted me to change her from powder to liquid concentrate, and we put her on similac and she got really constipated, and her doctor told us to buy a store brand, because its basically the same as the brand name ones, we chose parents choice, from walmart, its almost identical to nestle good start, but its 1/2 the price. honestly, talk to your doctor, because he'll give you better advice for your baby than we can, because we dont know your baby and the doc does. good luck!

My boy's been on Nestle's Good Start with Omega 3 and 6.... they also have one with b-cultures for digestive trac.. you might want to check into that... its the closest thing to breastmilk on the market right now.

Thanks everyone :) Ive had trouble with breastfeeding also and had to put him on the bottle.. He was on S26 Gold but it made him really constipated and he was always grumpy and in pain :( Hes recently been on Karicare Gold and it seems better.

we started my Daughter on Similac it gave her very bad gas!! now shes on Heinz and is doing great.
My doctor said you should not use soy based formulas unless your child has a milk allergey, so I would speak to your doctor if your thinking about soy :)

every baby is different, with my son we tried enfamil and similac and he had huge problems with both...... then we tried NESTLE GOOD START and it worked wonders and its cheaper and a much bigger can so all in all it was the best choice for us

If you've been breastfeeding you'll want to at least start on soy. It's easier to digest and the child won't get AS constipated. My son drinks Enfamil Prosobee because I breast fed him at first. Soy formulas are a lot harder to find though. I would go with Goodstart, Similac, or Enfamil.

Well it depends on the baby. There stomach and how it takes the formula. My son was on simuliac I think thats how you spell it not sure but it worked really well for him and he didn't spit up a lot either just the usual when burping. So it really depends on your child.
