Hi everyone, I thought it would be interesting for everyone to add their favorite baby food recipes for 6 months+. Give the recipe as well as the appropriate age for introducing it to your baby.
Just today I made the following recipe for my 61/2 month old daughter, and she loved it!
Steamed Broccoli & Cauliflower puree with Cumin
(Cumin is commonly given to newborn babies in the middle east to help prevent gassiness. So it should be safe for all babies, and it's especially good in this recipe, since cauliflower can cause gas.)
Steam brocolli and cauliflower florettes in a steamer (Or do what I do, place veggies in a metal strainer over a pot of boiling water and cover). Don't over cook, or else the brocolli may become bitter. When tender, cut off the long stems and puree them in a food processor with some of the leftover water. When smooth, add a pinch of cumin (and I added a teeny TINY amount of salt for taste... just a few grains, but it may be best to leave it out actually). Serve alone or mixed with rice cereal!
I also have these cute heart shaped ice cube trays, so I make extra baby food and freeze it in the trays, and then store the food cubes in the freezer in storage containers.
I'd love to hear everyone else's favorite baby food recipes!
