My son is 10 now, his father committed suicide 10.23.00 and I have not had to face the questions. His father's mother has told my son that Daddy went to sleep and didn't wake up. I fear the day I have to actually tell him what happened. I know I can't live the rest of my life or his without telling him the truth. My ex had physically abused me and that night came within inches of our sons face...who was only 19 months old at the time......I have no reason why he felt he had no other choice. No note, not video no signs.

I am sorry Tiffany that you are having to face this extremely tough question. I almost would re-direct her and ask her what makes her miss or think of her dad when you are punishing her or fussing....just what's she thinking about? One thing my son and I still do to this day, is get balloons. I let him write on them, whatever he wants, and he lets them go to his dad. It's a great release for him. I can see it in his expressions. Today was my nephews birthday party, and all the kids got balloons --- my son convinced my other son (4 yr old) to let the balloon he had go too so that his dad would know that even his brother knows about him and thinks about him. Some things are just left better unsaid. But I would seriously get her talking.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
