HELP need your insight on BOP!!

ok so my husband has been at langley for almost 4 years and is putting in a BOP: base of preference. (note: we cant go to hawaii or alaska, bc they are considered oversea assignments and cant go overseas with just a bop)

we have a 2 year old little girl, and while at the next duty station plan on having another baby. We are from texas and so is our whole family, so were used to the heat, but not so much the cold but willing to deal lol. we are outdoorsy people. love to hike, play sports, go to parks, fish, husband likes to hunt, love the beach (but been at va beach forever) can you tell me about on base and off base housing? (we want on base, but i have severe asthma and cant live in the older houses, EFMP) and how is the hospital, seeing as i have medical problems and would LOVE to have another baby :] and if you could tell me what there is to do around your base.

If googled everything i could possibly think of for the past 2 weeks searching but most of the answers are from 2008 or so and Id like up to date answers. THANKS A TON!

(he can only look at bases with F22s,F15s,F16s,A10S (fighter jets) as its his job is to work on them.)

Hi there! I was born and raised in las Vegas nv born at the old nellis hospital. The new one which is off base but right across the street is an amazing hospital. My husband and I miss this base and las Vegas since it is our home!! They have newer housing as well. Good school on base and ok schools off base do some research on Clark county school district. I recommend this base lol. My dad lives near Edwards Afb and I partly grew up out there (divorced parents) it is in the middle of the Mojave desert lol. I'm not sure on a hospital or clinic there. It Is a drive to go anywhere. They have brand new homes and any shopping or off base life is 45-1hr away! Cooler out there that at nellis. Oh and sonic booms!! My husband and I are currently at Barksdale Afb la.... We can't wait to leave! We have been here 2 years. Crime rate is high. I hear the schools are pretty good but I have a 10 month old so I really cannot voice an opinion here. We don't think there is too much to do here. Hubby and most our friends work quite a few excersizes so there isn't much time for get togethers. Base housing is new and historic. We live in the new and like the home. It is beautiful out here really green. But we both find it really difficult to breathe with the humidity. They have a clinic here. I was sent off base to have my son and for all the maternity appointments which I loved. I had wonderful doctors! I hope this info helps you out. Hi, Danielle we were at Eglin for 9 years it was or first Base and i loved it there base housing is old so you might not want to go there but everything else was great to me the beach is great and the people are nice in the towns around base it's not big city but the schools are good now I'm at Nellis if you think you'll like dry heat and cold winters then you might like it here the school on base is nice but Nevada is like 48th or something at the bottom when it comes to education but as parents we have to put in the work anywhere we go and the housing on base is new I don't love it here like I did Eglin but i don't hate it I think you just have to make the best of where ever you go hope this helps some
