My husband has been gone since September and it has been very difficult especially at night. I just try to keep myself occupied, and with three kids at home that's easy enough to do. It doesn't seem like he is every coming home but he should be here next month, so it does go faster than you think when it's all over with.

I've been a military wife for nearly 10 years. We have 2 young children. I'm not going to lie and make everyday seem like it's filled with roses. Truthfully, there will be hard days, possibly much harder than what you're dealing with now even though I understand right now it's the pits. It gets easier!!!! In the first 2 years of our marriage he was tasked with a few short deployments 2-4 months at the most and it sucked big time. I remember crying and being a bit depressed. But as long as you stay busy eventually you'll get into a routine and in no time he'll return. We just recently went through a year long deployment with 4 months of training before hand. I was pretty depressed for about 3 months, but after that I was fine. I actually ask him now when he can go on another deployment! Stay strong. Stay faithful.

Hi! How long has he been gone? Lackland AFB, right? My husband is graduating from Basic on February 27th. I can't wait! 8 weeks is long, and we have a soon-to-be 2 year old. The first few weeks are hard, but it gets easier, just keep busy! I write to him every night, after baby is in bed. It's my way of connecting with him, having that quiet time to just "talk" to him! We were never apart before he left, so it was hard initially. But, he'll ba able to call usually on Saturdays. Yesterday was my husband's B.Day too!
