Just wondering where others are stationed and if they like it. We're at Wright-Patterson and we like it fine enough - it's better than Osan in Korea, but that could have been worse too. :-)

Were at Langley afb (hampton, va) but we live in Newport news. I actually like it here lots to do. Many many shoppin areas. Beaches are decent. Water is warm. There's some crime and I dont know about the schools here I've heard they are ok. I have a 2 year old so idk. But we are doing a BOP right now trying to decide where to go! We love the beach (were from Texas so were used to the high heat) but a very outdoorsy family and I would like to experience actual 4 seasons. Or mountains! Any help?

We just PCSed to Luke AFB in AZ from Hickam in HI. So it's a very big change, but so far we love in! Unfortunately my husband already got tasked to deploy, so my daughter and I are going home to Fl (near Patrick AFB) for the 6 months he is gone. I think it will help the time go by a little faster!

Quoting LeeAnn:

!st duty station was Nellis AFB (Las Vegas, 1993-4), 2nd was Eielson AFB (94-98, North Pole AK), then Ellsworth AFB (98-01, Rapid City SD), Sheppard AFB (01-04, Wichita Falls TX), on to Hill AFB (04-06, Layton UT), from there to hell at Pope AFB (06-07 Fayetteville, NC) then descended to the actual pits of HELL at Moody AFB (07-present, Valdosta GA).
Our favorite bases were Eielson and Ellsworth with Hill being a distant third. The absolute worst obviously is Moody with Pope being close as runner-up. The community of Valdosta treats the military like crap, the public school system is horrifying, truly. The base has been neglected by the Air Force so long that they failed the recent ORI and life has been miserable ever since. My husband earned highest awards for the IG team and base and STILL works a minimum 11 hour day and another couple at home. weekend duty works mandatory, whether there is flying or not, lol. We are trying to get orders asap!!

Have to add a brag on here.for my darlin'.  He has been put in for a step promotion to MSgt, his package made it past the wing, we don't know where it is now, or how long it will take......hurry up and wait, lol

We are currently stationed at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. We are hoping to get a PCS assignment soon! We aren't the biggest fans of this location. We are both from Minnesota, and would love a locations with winters! Before we were married, my husband was stationed in Ramstein, Germany and loved it! If we could go back there, we would be so happy!!

Oh God.  You might kill yourself LOL I HATE this place.  Let me just say that Southern California and Northern California are two completely different places.  Southern California is obviously the better of the two.

I don't know. I'm from Portland, and don't do well in the heat... I'm just happy it's not mid-west, then I would have almost certainly killed myself.

My husband was stationed here at Luke AFB in AZ but we chose for him to do a tour in Osan Korea so we can be transferred somewhere else and we got our 1st choice Tyndall AFB in Panama City , FL. I have lived here in AZ for most of my life and Chad and I have been married for almost 6 yrs and were ready for a change in weather. I am excited but scared at the same time. Anyone in Tyndall?

We're currently stationed at Spangdahlem, Germany. Our 2nd time out here and are getting ready to PCS in a few weeks. We're really going to miss it out here. So much to do but going back to my home State N.M. Actually to Holloman next. Anybody else based out there now? Would like to make some new friends. I have a 7 yr old daughter. I'm very outgoing and like to travel a lot. I definately don't feel like I'm in my 30's yet! LOL
