My daughter will NOT sleep alone, she is fine taking naps alone but when it comes to night time she will not sleep in her own bed.. My questions is, from mothers who have experienced this, how did you get your baby to sleep alone? Any hints and tips would help.

The first really hot heat wave broke my second child of sleeping with (and on) me. Our first we just used though love -- three nights of lots of crying and then he was fine. We also put them in baby sleeping bags --then all thier moving around and they won't get cold. I love the book Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child -- it has helped us lots through the years and has great suggestions and ideas for all ages and stages - I have many friend that say that that book changed thier lives.

how are you doing with this? I have the same problem but with an 11 month old, plus he just had to be weaned suddenly, so he is not happy with me :(

he was about 5 months when he quit totally sleeping with us. but then he wouldn't sleep through the night waking up to feed every 2 hours. The sleep book came about 2 months later when I felt so worn out I couldn't function anymore. I went online and bought a book called the Sleep Sense Program. It has helped immensly. My son is now 14 months old and sleep like an angel. However it is/was hard work. If you have anymore questions let me know. how old was your son when you started getting him out of your bed? Tell me more about the sleep book please.

I was having the same issue... and the advice I was given was placing the shirt that you were wearing that day with the baby to sleep since alot of babies are comforted by familiar smells... it helped enough to get my son out of our bed at first. eventually we used a sleep book to get him to sleep all night and never in our bed. now the big bed is for playing!
