Good Luck on your move and new beginnings! I can understand how hard it is. I moved from Ottawa to Calgary on my own with 4 kids. We had no family or friends here but it was our adventure. Best thing we ever did!

XOXO Give yourself time to adjust to your new community. Hanna is close to other small communities that offer mom's groups. I live in a small community in AB as well. I worked hard at creating new friendships and social connections for my sanity. I've been here almost two years and I love it. My best advise is when someone tells you to call them...playdate or mom's coffee...just call even when you think you might be interfering with their day. Do it! You go girl! :)

Best of luck to you! I've been there before and know what it's like being down the single mom road.

I want to say you are very brave.

I consider myself lucky to be in a relationship, but I am always thinking and hoping to be prepared if I ever find myself a single mother.  Since we aren't married, we never know.

My mom was single for a good part of my growing up, and she did a good job with me and my siblings.  I'm sure she went through hard times, but she always seemed to have friends around to support her.

And if you have a hard time making friends, I've always found (especially since becoming a mother) that having an internet outlet (like this Circle of Moms thing) helps a lot.

Good luck with everything, Michelle.

I hear ya!!!  I did most of pregnancy single and am still a single mom my daughter is nearly 8  months already. I have not moved to a new community but because i am from a religious community and was the unwed single mom, i lost a lot of support and friends (obviously were not really friends than...) keep positive, good things will come. Just enjoy being a mom!!!

Good luck with your move. I am sure you will do just fine & will meet people soon...summer is almost here. Embrace the opportunity to see what you are able to accomplish without anyone holding you back. Jaimie from Camrose.
