Just wondering if any one else's waters never broke during labor. With my oldest she was born with the amniotic sac around her. My midwife said that less than one percent of all babies are born 'in the caul" (as they 'caul'-heehee- it). I did some Google searches and found out that there are a lot of old wive's tales about these babies including that they will never drown and that they will be extremely artistic.

My youngest was born in the caul as well! She's an extremely sensitive and intuitive child.

My second baby was born in the caul and I recently assisted a delivery where the baby (girl) was also born in the caul..Its very beautiful to bear witness to such things..True there are many old "midwives" tales surrounding this all of which are true I am sure:)

My doula told me about this. She said that they are called mystic babies and there is a lot of superstition surrounding it. They say that it happens most often to girls and that they will be gifted and may have psychic abilities. Its also supposed to bring good luck. I think its pretty neat.

My amniotic sac was so thick with my #2 that it stopped my labor. My midwife broke it. I think if I had been more patient Logan might have. He is a water baby.

It is also said that caul babes have callings.

Oh and I had an extra lobe on my placenta.
