Did any of you have an easy natural birth and a rough postpartum? I have had four Bradley births, but the postpartum was terrible except for the last one. Five days after my first, I had a thyroid crisis and was very sick for several days. I was too weak to vacuum the carpet until she was three months old.

After my second, my immune system was low. I was sick ten days of every month for six months. I ran a fever of 102 or higher every month.

After my third, I had arthritis in my tailbone for eight months. The pain was more severe than labor.

I haven't experienced what you describe, but what does jump out is that all of those situations indicates some weakness of your immune system. Did your nutrition suffer post-partum? Or do you have some other condition that would predispose you to this type of immune response when your body is under stress? I would definitely look first at your nutrition if you want to build your immune system (and maybe consult a nutritionist if you have serious concerns about it). I know there are lots of herbs and other products out there that claim to boost your immune system, but I would start with lots of organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains and cut down on meat, dairy, sugar, and processed foods.



I would also consider what was different in your last pregnancy. Did your diet, routine, or environment change in some way? Did you move or change jobs? Were you taking or not taking different vitamins, herbs, or medications?
