My better half wants an iguana and I am so not familiar with these animals, can someone (anyone) shed some light on this situation and explain to me what should I get for this creature to besides a tank to put him/it in. Granted I want fish tank so can you also tell me what kind of fish could I put in one tank I want it to be pretty and colorful.

Don't know what you'd ended up doing but bearded dragons are a great alternative to iguanas. When we lived in Atlanta there was a neighbor who's iguana had gotten really large and aggressive...they basically turned over their sunroom to him and just set food inside the door! Bearded dragons will relax on your shoulder and are very people friendly! A friend who owned a reptile shop told me bearded dragons are the most people friendly of all reptiles. Good luck!
