3 wks ago I rescued 5 feral kittens from my grandmother's where the neighbor's dog has been killing them. My original plan was to take them on to the humane society but when I realized how feral they were I decided to try to tame them to ensure a better chance for homes for them. They've done really well, and have come a long way. They are like normal kittens now. My problem now is that in the time that I spent taming them I have gotten attached to them. I've tried to find them homes but haven't been able to find anyone willing to take them. I can't stand the idea of them going to the Humane Society and run the chance that they won't find a home and will be put down. I can't keep them b/c I already have two dogs and a cat and can't afford to have all five of them neutured/spayed. My husband has offered to take them for me b/c I can't bring myself to do it, but it still breaks my heart not knowing the future of these sweet little babies =(

No I haven't tried petfinder.com but I will now. Thanks! I talked to the owner of our local pet store and she has agreed to take them but has kittens right now that she has to get rid of first so I have put them in the local paper and if no one calls for them then they will go to the pet store when she's ready for them. I'm at peace with sending them there b/c I think they'll have a better chance than at the humane society.

have you tried posting on petfinder.com ? a lot of humane societies are also on fb and ive seen ppl posting adoption notices on the wall! if you have a no kill shelter near you, try them!? ive posted ads in our local paper as well and i was very careful with screening everyone that would call!! you can tell them youre going to be very picky about who gets them and you will want to do a home inspection, etc, to ensure that they are going to a great home! i know a lot of ppl dont like the idea of posting in a local ad and having just anyone take them but ive had great experience with it and also did follow ups to make sure everything was going fine! gl!
