Do they drive you bonkers? My boyfriend has what feels like every Xbox360 game under the sun. He still has games from the original Xbox, like his current collection isn't enough. He even has old playstation games, and I think 3 non-working consoles!!! When does it end? Does it ever? Lol

I want to beat him up over them sometimes. He's supposed to be looking for a job and says 'I've only played this new game for 2.5 hours!' I go, wow, I guess that's not that much. Glad he hasn't been on lately. Then I wake up and he's playing a game ON THE COMPUTER! LOL Yes, and then he tells me 'I got through this level, this one and OH we should put another game on here too' how about Fffffffffffffffffffff you, and I throw them all out.

I wish!

My husband used to play pretty much all day until the girls and I moved up here. He likes to say he's doing 'research' and to be fair he is because he does 3D hard surface modeling in school and is learning how to do it professionally and work on video games. MY OWN MOTHER would take up for Lee playing video games! *head desk*

He doesn't just play video games though. When he's doing his 3D models (If he loads them on his deviant art page I'll post a link) he'll put on his music and affix his headphones over his ears and expect not to be interrupted. He's so happy that our 7 year old will be at his mom's for this weekend and that I have a girl guide thing all day tomorrow that he's about to pee himself with joy :P

I TOTALLY understand!! My husband is almost the exact same way! I'm glad I'm not the only one with issues like this! What a relief! Thanks for sharing!

LOL I have pictures of our 5 month old pretending to play video games with daddy. I even took one this morning of her wearing his old xbox live headset.

Your son is very cute by the way.

LOL my husband didn't like the new Call of Duty. He plays Halo Reach now (his dream would be to work for the company that moved off from Bungee to work soley on the Halo games) usually on Xbox Live as Spy46, but he hasn't played it in weeks. Recently he's been playing Crackdown 2 for some research and he found out one of his teachers at his school had worked on the game. He also plays Left 4 Dead (my mom bought him both of the games for his birthday) He plays Fable as well.

However my hubby played more (6hrs a day) before the girls and I moved up here from New York. He plays a lot more on Farmville now and the other Zynga games on facebook. We also have pictures of the baby pretending to play a video game with daddy and he's tried to teach my 6 year old to play Halo (she killed herself by walking into the water) So he does still get to do research, but he can't complete daily and weekly goals on Halo Reach like he used to.

Lol hmmm my boyfriend is big on Oblivion and I watched him re-do Fable 3-4 times. The first time he started the end battle before he had enough money so the whole game wiped out ALL the people so he was the only one left running around. Game over. After he redid it the 3rd time for the hell of it I told him I was going to beat his mf ASS if I had to really watch Fable anymore.. ffs lol

He'll fallback on Forza, do paint jobs on there too.

Big time Call of Duty. I think those are the staples lol expecially since we have a baby and he has to jump up at any given moment or get jumped on now that the rugrat is climbing the couch. He can't play certain games most of the time :P

I think he's dealing well with it.. considering I didn't know how much he really gamed when we met LOL

My husband says Na na na. He's a little Halo fanboy, he just won't admit it to anyone including himself. When Halo Reach came out last year he bought the big collector's edition pack. The 100$ one. And I still don't know what he got for 100$

Meh, he also plays Star Craft with one of our friends, but won't let me play because he says I'd just kill myself. Meanie.

Oh my boyfriend is pissed he didn't get that because his Xbox needed more storage and or crapped out so we decided to just buy the new box with the big memory bank already in it........ and then that Halo xbox came out lmao

My husband has the Halo 3 edition Xbox360! It has to be the ugliest thing on the planet. And it's sitting in my front room now. He also has a game cube under our bed that I tripped over after the cat took it out a few times. I told him either hook it up or toss it.

Of course he can get away with gaming claiming it's research because of school. But seriously!

With that said I have moved my raiding schedule around to the mornings and early afternoons while the kids are in school. during the summer one day a week. so i am doing things i can just get up at the drop of a hat if the kids need me.

ITA with Elizabeth & Laura. My ex-h was/still is addicted to WoW and it pretty much destroyed our family.
My fiance does play games, but he's nothing like the x. I'm thankful that while he is here playing games, he's not out there raising hell and acting stupid.
Nicole, My ex-h sounds like your bf. I'm sorry!

My fiance doesn't go overboard while he plays. His main "hobby" is also a moneymaker. He's a custom knife maker and modder. That's where most of his time goes and sometimes yes, that drives me nuts because he becomes obsessive lol.

Got 'Kirby's Epic Yarn'? Waaaaaay cute, 2 player and easy :)
Life on Wii is fun too but it comes in that dumb family game Hasbro pack and well, I didn't care for any of the other games so I didn't want to pay 65 for 1 game

Exactly. I'm talking about hard core gaming issues lol so even though my boyfriend is working towards things now......... in the past, for almost a year, he would stay up all through the night and play games and get nothing done around the house EVER. So its really hard not to be bitter about it now that he is trying, because for the longest time that's all he did........ he has a lot of making up for past BS to do, I guess. Because I still don't feel totally healed yet.

Yesterday we were driving to the store and I was talking about something important that happened at work. I was driving and talking for a while, and when we stopped at a redlight, I look over and he's playing some game on his phone! I was like can you put that thing away while I'm F*n talking! Sheesh.

Hahahahaha.. I don't know about Elizabeth's hubby but my boyfriend will play video games ALL DAY if there was nothing else in dire need of attention......... or maybe even just ignore those dire needs......

He'll play for hours. 5 hours straight..... 10 hours. Yeah..........

Some of the games are just dumb too - like he'll paint cars for hours in Forza. Asdllakfjkjwekj ?!?!?! really?

I'd rather he be into video games then a drinking kind of guy, or a party guy, or a hunting, fishing, golfing......I guess I don't mind cuz he really doesn't play much, never more then an hour or so once a week or less. He also loves dungeons and dragons. Plays that once a week at his guy friends house.

My fiance isn't as bad as some but he does get quite carried away when he plays a game. He totally loses track of time and goes into a totally different world.
When I try to talk to him or if I tell him something while he's playing goes in one ear and out the other, if it even goes through the one ear lol. Drives me crazy sometimes!

I say dog collars for the lot of them. You know those ones that have the remote control that you can press when the dog starts barking and it gives them a shock. Permanantly fasten one around our men's neck and keep the remote on us at all times. Baby starts fussing and they're not doing anything to help and bzzzzz they get shocked.

Yep.......... I wish we could do that sometimes. My boyfriend after he fed baby left me with a still grumpy half fed baby (didn't give him his half bottle afterwards) so he started whining again and he just went and smoked. I dropped baby off on his lap on the porch. He's really happy with me right now. We have a swing, a car seat- let baby sit by and get some air. It shuts him up right away because its a different area, different stuff to look at but my boyfriend never takes him out there. When my mom smokes she'll put my son in his stroller and bring him outside. Morning noon or night - bundled, toys to play with. She's huge on smoking though so she'll do whatever it takes lol my boyfriend just expects me to take care of baby but sometimes..... he'll just dissapear for 15 minutes, or longer. Fine, I'll just drop him off with you then. He's really happy with me right now :/ arg
I just wish we didn't have to play games, or fight over it. I think it's just D u M b but it continues?!

Or at least have the guts to say no if you're going to put it off. Mine will be out on the unclosed porch (We're smokers and its the only place we smoke. It's also where our computer is.) I'll come out after having spent 45 minutes feeding the little guy then playing with him, changing diaper, folding clothes etc while my hubby's been out here the whole time. I'll get part of a cigarette in. We'll hear the LO start to fuss on the moniter. First, I'll have to ask him to go take care of Donovan for a moment so I can sit and relax. He'll say sure hon and stay on the d*** computer. Seriously?! Your little guy is getting more upset by the moment and you can't wait to look up that item on Amazon. Grrrr. But the instant I get up to go get my little prince, hubby stands up and is like. I'm getting him and he's all annoyed at my impatience.

How does one get tired playing video games anyway? I don't get it. Yeah, my boyfriends priorities are all over the map too. I just asked him after me cooking dinner and making taco salad and doing a few dishes at 6 months pregnant if he could feed our son his nightly food food meal. My boyfriend, sure. I look up from eating and sitting here and he's alphabatizing his video game collection because he just had to move shelves. I'm like babe, if you are going to do that, can you please feed our son first who is CRYING!? omg

seriously?

For me, its not even the amount of time he spends on them. It's the amount of time he spends on them in comparison to anything else he does. He wants to play some BEFORE he does any chores. Then he's too tired to do anything.

lmao the other day I broke down over how much more help I need from him because I'm in my last 2-3 months of being pregnant and I'm exhausted now. Can't do nearly half as much as I used to and such. So the kitchen, I told him I needed him to do dishes........ they stayed dirty for 10 days!!!!!! I know he did a few loads but 3 out of how much we get dirty doesn't help. I'm like look, I need your help period. I'll do as much as I can again later, but right now I am totally useless lol so what does he do? The entire next day hangs out with his friend. Yeah, I told him his friend could come over for a while so they could play games together but his friend showed up at like 1 in the afternoon instead of like 10pm at night like he normally does! So they sat around almost all day. Damn. So he's finishing dishes tonight and doing laundry and putting clothes away. Gotta love it though
I too love the 'need to relax' thing that takes 5 hours to unwind from a simple trip to the grocery store?! Man, life is sooooo hard...................

LOL my Partner is a total computer NERD! and he's a computer programmer go figure hahaha

He has games for his PC, he has x box 360 games AND we have a Wii (the Wii is mine), we also have a lap top and an Ipad.

I can live without it all (well except the lappy) and he would DIE with out it all.

I've come to the conclusion it's a boy thing.

LOL
