When were you planning on weaning from formula/breastmilk?

My daughter is 11 months old. Our pediatrician told us to wean from the bottle/formula at 12 months. I am concerned, however, because she still gets the majority of her nutrition from her formula. She will eat table foods fairly well, but she still takes 25-30 oz a day. She has eight teeth, and will eat any vegetables that I cook and she will eat numerous fruits. She will not eat anything pureed. She wants to feed herself. We offer only water or formula in a sippy cup. My main concern is weaning from the formula. I know what our doctor told us to do, (gradually reduce the formula as we introduce whole milk) but I am worried about her not getting her nutrients. She just doesn't eat enough solids to keep her full. I have not yet started her on whole milk, as our doctor said not to until she was 12 months. Any suggestions? How were you planning to wean?

My oldest son was on formula, and I got him off formula by 11 1/2 months and on cow's milk.

I hate formula and I wanted him off it as soon as possible. My son didn't eat a lot of meat at that point, but he ate plenty of veggies and fruits. By 15 months he was eating meats, and was just fine drinking milk and eating 3 times a day, with a couple of snacks in between.

My other children were nursed well past the age of 1 and allowed to self-wean, my oldest daughter was 16 months old when she weaned, my youngest son 18 months old, and my youngest daughter is almost 15 months old, and still nursing strong. All of the youngest 3 started eating plenty of solids by 14-15 months old.

My two year old still breastfeeds for the majority of his liquids and sometimes meals. I plan on letting him self wean. This is a great site to help get really nourishing foods in your baby.
