How do you expand a 4 year old's attention span?

I recently had a school conference where my daughter (super smart daughter!!) was described as impatient and unable to focus for long periods of time. This wasn't a complete shock to me since she has trouble with interrupting and patience at home. The teacher said "I'm not saying she has ADD but she needs to work on her ability to focus". Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that???
