what about school time?

Maria and I went for school testing on Monday, for kindergarten. She loved it. She is so excited to be starting in Aug. I signed my daughter up for pre-k through the school corp. If you call your local school district they will give you a list of places. Most of the pre-k class are taking enrollment now. If I were you I would be calling now. I sat through my daughters orientation. The stuff these kids have to know before they get to kindergarten is ridiculous

We just signed up for kindergarten yesterday! Just Johanna and I went (Daddy and sister stayed home) and we talked as we walked to the school about how far away Fall was and how she'd be ready for a new school. She was excited. Just call the local school and find out when registration is and what you need to take with you.

My daughter started Pre-K this year (Aug 2008). We got her fall report the other day (poor teacher had lost it, had to wait 3 months to get it!!!) She already knows all her letters and numbers to 100. She can write her name. She knows all her colors and shapes. Her teacher told us all that she needs to graduate Pre-K is for us to buy her cap and gown. I can write the sentences "Momma loves Dallas" "Dallas loves Dixie", etc and she knows each word and will read it back to you.
But to answer your question and not brag on my daughter (SO SORRY, I am just proud of her!!!), kids where I live whose 5th birthday fell before Sept. 1 of this year started Pre-K last August. 99.9% of the kids here have to go to Pre-K before the can go to Kindergarten. They have preschool for 3-4 at daycares around here too that help alot to get them ready for Pre-K in the school system.
