My son keeps telling us he is scared of everything of everything in our house! He says there's monsters and ghosts. So, I lay in his bed with him until he falls asleep, then go to my room and go to sleep. Sometimes, he will wake up in the early morn and crawl into bed with us, so I will take him back to his room and lay back down with him until he falls asleep again! Please! Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to stop??

We dealt with that when he was 3. One day I took him through the whole house and we told all the monsters and ghosts to go away if they are mean, but we told the nice ones they could stay lol I know that is silly but thats all it took for us.

My son too is scared of everything. I try to be understanding but sometimes I get really frustrated with him. Some thing I would suggest is to ask him where he saw that there are ghosts & monsters in your house? It might me a movie he has or some cartoon he watches he may need to stop watching. Also he may still be young enough that you can make something up like give him a flash light & tell him monsters & ghosts hate light & if you shine it they will go away & never come back or something along those lines. It's funny what kids get in their little heads!! Good luck, I hope you get to go to sleep with out little feet in your side soon :)

Hi, can't say I know how to get it to stop but I do have a simular situation. My son won't go to sleep on his own either (and he shares with an older brother aswell...) and usually comes in at 5am. He did use to sleep in our bed though so this is a step forward and I am hoping he will grow out of it... Has your son had any big changes happening lately? That can make them a bit insecure....
