Cool Birthday plans.. What are you doing?

We also had at home family parties until now, but since my son is in pre-school for the first time this year, we decided to invite some friends from school. We were on a fairly tight budget though, so we organised with the local sports club to use their field, and had a slip 'n slide for the kids to spend their energy! As far as snacks and stuff go, we decided to make a surprise packet for each kid with a few sweets and a juice, and Heaven help us, a fun whistle. We went all out with a tractor birthday cake which my mom and I baked and decorated, and my boy helped decorate, which was priceless ( Have a lot of photographs of the process and I will savour that forever, even more than the party itself). I find that parents often have all these fancy snacks and sweets and not even half of it is eaten, or it is wasted ( I think moms do it mostly to impress the other moms...) Everyone had a great time and there was no big mess and lots of leftover stuff to deal with. Oh, and balloons, my son loves balloons and will fill our house with them if you'd let him. So all in all, a great day for the kids, and not too much stress for Mom.

We just had my daughter's birthday. She picked a cake from her cake book, invited a few kids, and told me what snacks she wanted. We had a suasage sizzle party, as well as a piniata which she requested, and pass the parcel. She also got a (sharing) trampoline for her birthday, and the kids spent most of their time on it. They all just wanted to run around and play. The parents enjoyed th sausage sizzle though.

We just do a fun thing with family until age 5, but I like to make a cool b-day cake. So my 4 year old boy is going to get a digger cake!

We are renting a bounce house, popcorn, and snow cone machine and heading to the park. Little boys have so much energy! We are going to run and bounce untill everyone is worn out. Lol. My son is really into monster trucks right now, so everything is themed around that. It should be a good time. The baseball park sounds pretty awesome...my little guy would love that too!

Fun idea.

Julia is having a princess party for her 4th. This will be the first time I am just having little girls dropped off, so it will be simple. Dressing up like princesses (maybe some makeup lol) and games. And she gets to have her cousin sleep over...hopefully she doesn't freak out, she is turning 5 lol.
