I used the sticker method - every morning after he slept through in his own bed we sticked a sticker and after a few we gave him a reward - he just loved sticking the stickers. We also had his 3 month old brother share a room with him and told him to look after his brother seeing that he is the big brother. He just loved his brother.

well...its hard for a child at this age to accept or to understand that for 3 years was sleeping with his mother and now sudenly they want him to sleep by himself in his room....I started to introduce him his room and his bed every afternon when was his nap time....at first he wanted me stay there and to lay down with him....so I was pretending that first I have to clean his room, that is room needs some dusting lol....and for a few soconds I tried even to left his room and coming back ....I know its sounds crazy ,it took him almost 5 days to get used to it, for me 5 days to pretend Im cleaning his room,,, now I know that I did not use a drastic way to force him ,no guilt .....worked for me with out letting my child to cry.

we started making our daughter sleep on the floor instead of the bed when she got up during the night. she lost interest really fast when she realized she wasn't going to be taking up half our bed laying sideways

i had the same issue wiht my daughter tried everything. spoke to the doc and she was it was more then okay to leave her safely in her room and let her cry (not while sick) herself to sleep. its hard but i stood my ground and did it, after a few nights we were golden. she has no problem going to bed in her own room. i hope this help. best of luck!

same problem hun, i had tried everything from sleeping with him to the supernanny technique and nothing worked. my mum had recently brought conner a new car bed, she told him that it was special and even though he sometimes comes in mine in the night, he seems to like his own bed. you could try buying some stickers etc of your sons choice and tell him its a special bed but be prepared to have a visitor in the night. good luck
