Wow, they grow up fast! We're coming on Breyton's 1st birthday! Has anyone had good ideas for their kiddo's 1st birthday?

After going to many 1st parties this year for friends babies, I am seriously considering an adults only party with only Grace's closet two playmates.  It has just seemed too crazy with 10-15 little ones screaming and running around at the other parties.  Grace also has no cousins because she is the first in her generation.  I don't really know about the theme but I am going to do it the day before because her actual bday is Monday the 20th and that will be to coordinate with family from away.  We are thinking spring flowers for a theme because we can't wait for some nice weather!!

We call our little Lily 'Tinkerbell' and her room has Tinkerbell in it, as well as lots of her clothes, toys, etc...so naturally we're having a Tinkerbell theme. My sister threw me a Tinkerbell baby shower so we're using lots of those decorations too and have recently bought more. We plan on having a come and go on the day of her party and then close family and friends for dinner and cake (cupcakes for the birthday girl and any kids). My sister just bought her a little shirt that says 'birthday girl' - so cute! I'm very excited! Time flies!

Party City has a very cute first birthday pink with butterflies pattern that we're going to go with.  Also I brought a giant cupcake pan for Grace's smash cake.  Her birthday is April 2nd so this year it will be easy to plan since Easter is the following weekend.  In 2010 her birthday is Good Friday so planning that is going to be one PITA.

That is like my year this year my sons 1st bday is april 13th and easter is the day before :-S  so i am having his party on the 19th his cousin was also born 5 days before him on the 8th so i have to plan around his 1st as well.  and my moms birthday is the 20th so that will be cool having his party the day before hers. so many april birthdays lol my dads is the 1st......

My mom's birthday is the 21st and she'll be the BIG 50!  So it will be birthday, easter, birthday...

I just find in amusing that Grace won't celebrate her first easter until she is over a year old.

hat is funny how easter moves around and its been over a year for her. i as having a hard time wondering what i was doing last year and if my son missed it then i remembered i was still preggo :-)

My daughter likes all different nursery rhymes so her cake is going to be a collage of Mother Goose.

My husband is big into golf so we are thinking about doing a golf theme party.  We are using golf terms for the invitations.

I also have a son who will be 7 at the end of March. So my husband just wants to combine the two birthdays. After a long fight I think I'm giving in. I'm not sure if I'll have it at the house or go some where. I was thinking maybe the zoo to have it somewhere, but I haven't checked out how expensive it would be. I have a lot of family on both sides, not to mention the few friends. If I have it at the house I'll probably do a number theme one for each age.

I've always called my little guy a monkey, and he actually loves them so we are going to do an animal theme!
