Not "walking" but definitely cruising on everything and anything she can hold on to.

Sophie is so keen to keep up with her big sister. She first sat up on her own late November then somehow went to Mach 1 crawling and is now cruising the furniture, cupboards etc at great speed. It won't be long and then I am in for it. 2 toddlers going in different directions!

My son has been cruising for a few weeks now. He just turned 9 months. He's getting more and more daring everyday. I want him to learn but I don't! He'd been crawling around using the army crawl for about 2 1/2 months until a few weeks ago, too when he learned how to really crawl, how he gets around so fast it drives me insane! When he finally starts walking he'll be all over the place. He is a really happy baby, though, and seems to be very intelligent and interested in EVERYTHING so I guess thats a good thing.

My son walks holding on to furniture and he can push chairs across the room since he was 7 months. We have our bets that he'll be walking on his own at 10 months!

if atlanta sees something she wants she'll take a couple of steps to get to it if you hold her hands. Odle she can stand unsupported and take steps but cant pull herself up to standing. Any ideas folks?

My little girl has been walking around furniture for 2 months....very early I know. Yesterday she took her first steps without any help. My mom claims I was walking by 9 months too. So maybe it runs in the genes.

Ryan is pulling himself up against anything he can get his little hands on, and when we try to hold his hands when standing he trys to pull away because he just wants to do it his self. I was an early walker at 9 months, he will be 9 months on the 23rd of this month. im hopeing he takes in mummys footsteps, i feel sorry 4 the little mite he just wants to be like his older brother. he gets so frustrated. xx

My little guy walks around the furniture like a pro, and is starting to stand on his own for like 10 seconds.  He refuses to let us hold his arms to help him walk, he wants to do everything on his own, including feeding himself!!

My son just figured out he could pull up on things about a week ago. He hasn't taken any steps yet, but I am sure it will be soon. It seems like my daughter did all of this so much sooner.

My son started crawling at 6 mo and pulling up at 7 mo...he's been cruising around furniture for a couple of mo now and can let go to stand alone briefly.  He has also been walking around using one of those stand up push toys...we didn't get him a walker to sit in because he's too big (he wighs 28 lbs and is about 31" tall)

Abby finally took her first steps this week.  She will walk 6 or 7 steps in a row if she's really motivated.  I guess she's just trying to get out of the way since she'll be a big sister in August!

My little one started taking steps around Thanksgiving.  She has been walking for about 2-3 weeks.  She even tries to run, but trips over her feet.  Its so cute and funny.  I knew she would walk early, my husband and I both walked by 9 months.

My daughter just started crawling forward on the 10th her 9 month birthday lol but before that she crawled backwards and she stands up all the time but she only pulls herself up to her knees!! She has been walking while holding my hands long before crawling though!! She can go from laying to sitting by herself but she was only 5 lbs so i was thinking she was gonna be slower but it seems she might just be average!!! It is so amazing the difference in all the kids!!!

Nope! My twin girls just started sitting on their own. They cannot even get to sitting on their own. But they were also 7 weeks early so we are on a slightly different timetable.

Thank goodness not yet LOL  Jaxon is doing an "army crawl" to get from place to place and pulls himself to his feet when holding on to something sturdy but that's it so far and honestly I am thankful to have some extra snuggle time with him before he gets too worldly!

Now my son takes a few steps a few times a day. He's been walking around the coffee table since he was 5 months, before he could even crawl. Now he sees something across the room while he's standing and starts to walk to it, taking about 5 steps. Then you can see a look on his face like "oh yeah, I'm not supposed to be able to do this" so he plops back down and crawls to it. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

My little girl isn't crawling or walking yet, the last few days she has been getting on her knees and rocking so i think we're nearly there, she's so laid back it's unbelievable, hardly cries or anything!, my other children started walking at 1 year, 16 months and 10 months so i'm not worried at all

My little guy has been pulling himself up since shortly after he started crawling, he's just now mastered the art of doing so without falling over (TY God) he just recently started walking along the furniture, it won't be long but I know once he does it I'm going to wish he couldn't!! Too much mobility means more running around for me!

Ellie figured out how to crawl on Jan. 4th, and has been crawling around like a madwoman ever since. She's now trying to figure out how to pull up on stuff. She can take steps if you hold her hands and walk behind her. She motors around like crazy in her walker. But no walking alone yet, and I am glad for that!! I can wait!

My daughter is still holding onto the furniture but man she moves. She can go around the footstool in less than a minute if she really wants to. I think she'll be walking soon.

My little girl is pretty laid back and doesn't like to be pushed into doing anything. She likes to go at her own pace. She had a play date with 2 children who are older and walking. I guess that inspired my little girl because that night when we got home she decided she wanted to start crawling. Two days later she decided to try taking steps holding onto our hands. It's so amazing to see them grow and do new things.

my daughter just started walking on her own today- not holding on to anything, just right in the middle of the floor! she's been cruising around furniture for about a month and loves getting into everything so now she's going to be getting into more!

Mine is soooo close.  She walks around with one hand on the wall.  She will let go and stand alone.  Steps alone are coming soon.  She will be my earliest walker.  My first walked at 10 mos, and my third at 9 and a half mos.  Abigail will turn 9 mos on Sunday.

My little man pulls himself up on everything and walks around the furniture. He has been doing this pretty much since he started sitting up by himself when he was about 7 months old. Now he is just barely learning to stand for a few seconds by himself.

Makenna will walk when she is holding onto our fingers or her walker.  She just started pulling herself up in her crib and other things in the house in the last couple of weeks.

My son doesn't crawl. But we were at families last weekend, and he started trying to move his legs while standing.. to get closer to someone. Today he was trying to pull himself to standing. What a mystery, no interest even in crawling.

Just to clarify my post earlier: My son has been walking all on his own since mid Dec. He started walking with support just after he turned 7 months. And crawling started at 6 months.

My son was born April 5th and has been walking around things for quite some time, we thought he would be walking by Christmas but he isn't by himself yet! Santa brought him a walk behind toy and he is all over the house, he just isn't quite steady enough to walk on his own but he will take a step here and there until he knows he is on his own!!

My rugrat is pulling up and walking around while holding on to things, or in some cases, me! She's stood completely by herself for about 5 seconds then sat back down, but I'm hoping that by the end of the month she'll be walking.

My little one isn't walking yet, but it's amazing what has happened in the last month. She went from just rolling around the room, to scooting, then crawling, and now pulling herself up to stand in a matter of four weeks. I suspect walking will come soon. She's 9 months and 1 day now. I suspect she'll be like her daddy. I never crawled and didn't walk until I was 16 months. Her daddy walked at just over a year and did crawl.
