anyone else trouble conceiving #2?

Miscarriages are common after your first baby if it's within 2 years. I had one recently as well.

For infertility problems men can take a Zinc supplement to increase their fertility and avoid overheating themselves (hot tub/sauna) on a regular basis. It may be wise for you (the Mom) to increase your folic acid and vit D intake as well as your zinc levels to increase your fertility. Just a little bit extra, not too much. Even some really good prenatal vitamins usually don't have enough of the above supplements/vitamins. A Naturopath can really help!

Tracking your cycle is a good plan as well. It will take at least 3 months to understand your cycle and for the supplements and vitamins to work.

Remember too...just have fun. Don't think about it. The more you stress, the higher your cortisol levels become...the harder it will be for you to conceive. Exercising is a good way to decrease cortisol...even a 1/2 hour walk everyday or every other day. No need to go crazy!

My husband and I are going to wait at least 6 months before trying to conceive again...which is direct advice from our Midwife, Prenatal Specialist and my Doula training. Your body needs time to heal after a miscarriage no matter how early or late. You may feel strong enough, but your internal clock might not be ready yet. Take the time to enjoy your 2 year old and/or any other children you have. Good luck!

My son was born April 18 '08 and we started trying for #2 in Feb '09. We were seriously trying thru November and decided to take a break in Dec. I found out I was pregnant with #2 early Jan '10. Both pregnancies were conceived naturally. Funny how the one month we stopped trying was the month I conceived. Good luck and I hope everything works out for all of you that are trying.

Thank you for all of the wonderful advice! I'm waiting to schedule an appt with a specialist when things calm down a little bit! I am praying for all of you and sending baby dust your way!! I feel like it might happen this summer & I'm going to try to stay positive!!

i heard that if you have sex everyday it wont work and if you have sex less than once a week it wont work cause his sperm count is low so you have to have sex like every 4-5 days and count 13 days after the first day of your period and you should get pregnant

Hm I wouldnt say Im having trouble YET.. but we have been trying since december.. no suck luck yet.. but Im starting to wonder.
Im pretty sure I had a very early (like 5 weeks) in December.. and have only had one cycle after that.. so I wonder if my body needs time to recover? I doing know... I just hope that we concieve soon, after a year if we dont succed I will be trying clomid im sure..
Anyways I hope you get a sticky baby bean soon.. sending lots of baby dust your way.

My April '08 baby was my second and we were trying for 3 years. It did happen naturally. Although I should mention that we were away on vacation when he was concieved. I truly believe that the fact I was relaxed helped (first vacation in years where we weren't visiting family). My third baby came along unexpectedly (youngest two are 18 months apart). I know how hard it is when you want another baby and it seems like it is not happening, but try to relax and give it some more time.

My April 24, 2008 baby is my second child--conceived through IVF/ICSIS. We had trouble trying for our second and after 4 years trying, we finally went to a fertility clinic. It took 2 cycles, but we finally have our second and she is wonderful.

My lil man was concieved naturally, but through fertility medication but we fell on the first cycle. I have PCOS- Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome, so I cant ovulate without meds to help my eggs grow.. I have been trying with fertlity meds again for about 15months now and still no luck! It may be time to look into some other tests like testing for PCOS (just an ultrasound) or checking ur falllopian tubes where they flush some dye through to see if they are blocked.. Have ur husbands sperm tested also. Pregnancy is such a complicated process and I think I have just come to a conclusion that I have the most beautiful lil boy in my world and another will come along when it's meant to be.... eventually! Exercising, eating right ang mainitaining a healthy weight is a great placed to start, taking pregnancy vitamins is a muct also (which Im sure u r already doing anyway!!)

Hi Ladies, I had my son on 4/29/08 and having been trying for a year now to conceive #2. I have done all the testing to see if there is anything wrong and there is not, my obgyn even did that test where they put dye in your tubes to make sure everything was fine and it is. The doctor does not want me to go on clomid or anything becuase I am young and she feels it will happen.....but I am getting so frustrated!!! Its nice to have others to relate to. Hopefully it will happen sooner then later...but I am not holding my breathe. LOL I wonder why it happened so quickly the first time and not this time?

my second was born 4-6-08 and i had my third on 9-15-09, the thing that always worked best for my was the ovulation calaendar on baby center website, it took my about three months to track my period really good but then i or We tried when it said we were ovulationing and it has work both times and hope to do it again for the 4th. My first was born 4/25/08 after two miscarriages and a year of trying before that. Since then we had one miscarriage and are now due with the second at the end of May. Before conceiving this time I noticed that my cycle was longer and heavier. To "relearn" my cycle we started practicing natural family planning (NFP) again. My husband and I took a NFP course when trying for our first because we tried for such a long time. The NFP helped us to conceive our second because my cycle was so different. The times we were trying we weren't fertile. There were even some months when I appeared to be infertile. Good luck trying and just know that it will happen. Also, stress can contribute to infertility so try to relax and not put pressure on yourself.

We have just started trying again a month ago. No luck as yet, but it is early days. I have heard it is common to have trouble the second time around. It probably wouldn't hurt me to lose some weight. I'm still carrying a lot of the weight gained during my first pregnancy, so that probably won't help.:( Bring on the gym! lol

I know soooo many people having problems conceiving #2! It sucks! But my OB said if we had one, the next one will come along in time & probably when we aren't trying. Easier said than done!

I got pregnant with my son who was born on April 5th 2008 no problem. We had no problems during the pregnancy either. Since then, we have had 2 miscarriages. The doctors don't know why it's happening, especially since I was able to carry my first pregnancy to term with no problems. Because the last miscarriage was so recent, we are going to hold off for a bit. Im scared that it would happen either.
