Just stopped breastfeeding about a week ago, still haven't gotten mine. Sure has been nice not having one for almost 2 years! Although, when my daughter was about 8 months or so, i did have one for about a day, very light though, and nothing since.

Mine came back full force when my daughter turned 10 mons (Feb/March), but nothing since then. Only some spotting. Is that normal? Does anyone had a similar experience?

I finally got mine back just before my youngests first birthday april 21st, and it was a bit of a shock as was still breast feeding twice a day. I'd gone almost three years without one as my eldest is only 14 months older and they never came back in between, hence it took a while to find out I was expecting my youngest. Only thing is since they came back they;ve been every other week, but it looks like it is starting to settle down now

I nursed my son til he was one and was expecting my period to start at any time... but nope.
That's because I'm pregnant - surprise! (well, not a total surprise - just earlier than we planned).

Robert weaned himself around May 6th (13 months) and I haven't had my cycle since July of 2007. I also have an IUD right now. Not sure if that makes any difference.

I nursed until July (low milk supply, baby not gaining). I had my period within 2 months, but I had also started the pill. Oddly, I lactated until November. It really took a long time to stop which was odd since I was not enough for the baby - and all I wanted to do was nurse. :-( I really give all you gals who are still nursing credit. Hopefully when we have baby number three, it will be a hungry little boy who gets a good strong milk supply from the start. Both of my girls were terrible nursers. At any rate, it wouldn't hurt to visit the doc to make sure you don't have a surprise guest in there. :-)

With my second son, I started 5 weeks after he was born. Yes, I was breastfeeding. With my twins, I nursed for three months, but still started again after 5 weeks. I haven't nursed in 7 months, but I am still lactating. If they would take the nipple, I could nurse them now. With my older two boys, I lactated for a year or more after I quit nursing. It's all hormonal. But if you are really concerned, see your doctor. Be carefull! Just because your haven't started your period, you can still conceive.

I'm still nursing 5-6x's a day & I got my 1st period when my baby was 10 months old. (I just got it for the 2nd time & it was over a wk. & 1/2 late. It's not going to be real regular at first.)
Any chance you could be pregnant? ;-)

I breastfed for 9 months, until the biting became too much to handle, I had my period return 1 month after he was born, at the other end of the extreme. but i def agree with other mothers that you contact your doctor and get a check up.

Lucky you! I'm still nursing, then one day, actually 11 months to the day w/o one! One mom got hers, then me, then another mom...chain reaction! I'm wondering if it will go back to monthly or be sporatic?

I am still nursing and yes I did get my period back in November. It is still not on a perfect cycle like it use to be before my daughter. I went on Mirena now so that may be a lot to do with that.

I'm still breastfeeding and have yet to get mine which is all good as far as I'm concerned but did think it would've come back since solids are Mitchell's primary source of food.

I pumped for 3 months while my daughter was in the NICU, and got mine in Mid-June after I had started to ween from pumping. My milk alone wasn't enough calories, I just decided since she'd have to take a bottle, it may as well be calorie rich formula.

I had a light period at the end of January/beginning of February, but nothing since. I hate to ask, but is there any chance you're already pregnant again?

I'm breastfeeding and have had my period for the past 3 months. The first one was the worst, full force. The other 2 have been light. I would contact your doctor to see whats up since you stopped bfing.

I am still breastfeeding, but I have gotten a light period every month. You might want to check w/ your OB, and just see what they say.
