hey i was just wondering if any of your april 08 babies are still having breast milk? my little girl who will be 2 on 11th april is and she doesn't seem to be showing any signs of stopping, she has also never slept through a night yet and wakes up for breastmilk and to get in bed with me all through the night. anybody in the same situation? chloe

We are in the exact same situation here. With my little gal born on the 16th. I have 10 and have always nursed until 22-23 months usually they are pretty much weaning on their own by then. I love nursing toddlers because it is truly mood happy juice for them. But, mine isn't interested in weaning at all. I complained to my girlfriends and one said she nursed her last until 3 and the other said sheepishly that she nursed her last one until 3 1/2... I laughed I had no idea. I am encouraging fluids by cup and being less accessible to her... but, nap and bed time.... she just gave up her 3 am feeding and now does at 5 and sleeps with me the rest of the time. It is a process...

Hi Chloe,

Sounds just like my situation.My little boy will be 2 on 24th April and he also still loves the boob! He also still wakes up every night and always wants breast milk to settle him again! He wakes up at least once,but can often be two or three times....

I originally said I would stop at 1year then that changed to 18mths but the way things are going I think I will just let him decide when he has had enough! He has breast milk a couple of times during the day which I don't mind....It would be nice to stop the night feeds though!

I figure it can't last forever can it and while we can give our little ones what they want and need we should just enjoy this special time while it lasts.Time passes so quickly and they will be grown before we know it.Good luck.Joanne
