Just wondering if all your babies were on the move? My little girl isnt yet and my hv doesnt think she will crawl. My eldest crawled about a week before she turned 6months so this is very strange!!

Hope you and your babies are all well. xx

Even if the babies don't show an interest in crawling, and want to go straight to walking, encourage them to crawl. This helps in cross/crawl patterns in the brain-helps lots of neurological stuff that most people have no idea about. Lack of crawling can inhibit learning abilities, especially in math.

My little guy just turned 8 months yesterday (29th) and he's scooting but only goes backwards. Hasn't quite figured out going forward just yet. From what I heard many babies skip the crawling stage and will go straight to pulling themselves up. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

My little guy started to crawl about a month ago. It started slow and now he is pretty fast. It is so strange for my husband and I since our 3 year old crawled for two weeks and then started walking at 10 months. So it is strange to have this guy on the move! We have to watch him because he is getting fast and gets into things he shouldn't! I hope he starts to walk soon, since he won't be to fast at that at first!

Update!!! Dylan will be 9 months on Jan 1st, and on Dec. 26th he took two steps then fell, then took two more. He did this in front of his grandmother who was seeing him for the first time, so she was thrilled!! He still is trying to get the hang of it, but will walk with us holding him!

my little girl started crawling on the 11th of this month, she turned 8 months on the 24th. she's now all over the place and getting into everything. it happened really quickly once she figured out how to get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth it was only two days later she took her first crawling steps forward. it's exciting, but it was easier when she stayed where i put her down.

Hi!! my little girl Shyla turned 8 mo on the 23 rd she started Army crawling the begining of December, just last week finally is crawling on all fours. My 2 older ones crawled before this.
Don't worry if your baby isn't ahead of schdeule some kids don't crawl til 9/10 months where some crawl at 5 months.

I thought Brandon was going to skip crawling, but he didn't. He even started a bit latish...around 7.5 months. But now he's everywhere and pulling himself up on things and standing for long periods of the day.

Not all children walk by a year my daughter didn't walk until 15 months. Walking around 1 year is just the average. She's 19 months now and running!!!

my son didn't start crawling til 7 monthes old. and just the other day he learned how to stand up. some babies skip the crawling stage and go right to walking. give her time. some babies take a while. by 1 year old she should be walking.

Mine has just started crawling the past few days. It's so awesome to watch!!! I wasn't sure if she would crawl b/c she tries to stand on her hands and feet but she's moving along now. It's amazing what happens within a few days.

My older daughter didn't crawl until 9 months(she's 19 months now!) and they say that 6- 9 months is normal but they should be able to do it by the time they are a year! So I wouldn't worry! My 8 month old is already crawling & has been for about a month!

My 8 month old isn't crawling yet, but she sure wants to. She moves backwards and rolls all over the place though. I'm not worried about it. I also think she'll walk before she crawls!

My little guy is 8.5 months, and he is just content to sit and play. He loves to stand on my lap, or roll around on the floor, but anytime I put him on his hands and knees, he just flops himself down onto his tummy. I think he is starting to figure it all out though, because when he sits to play, he will reach forward and prop himself with his hands to reach a toy, so it's just a matter of time before he realizes that he can hold himself up and move. From what I understand, nowadays it's very normal for a baby to skip crawling because of the amount of time babies aren't spending on their tummies....not like the good old days when that is all they had. Plus it can happen anytime between 6 and 10 months, so there is still lots of time for your little girl for figure it out!

MIne is just getting into the crawling position but when he tries to go somewhere he flops on his belly. My older son never crawled and just went from rolling around to walking. Some just dont walk, it's very normal.

My little on is 8 months now. He was 6 weeks early. He does not craw or roll from back to front - but I am not worried. There is a wide range of normal. I have a friend whose little on did not roll from back to front til age 1, even though she was crawling by that time. I know my little one will crawl soon, this just gives me a little more time to baby proof the house.

nope, no crawling or any interest in it either. She prefers to be held up in a standing position but can't maintain that herself. She'll get there when and if she gets there. I figure she's not going to be in Kindergarden still not knowing how to crawl or walk... :)

My son is rolling around, scooting on his back and loves to stand. But he throws a fit when he gets tummy time - so it hinders him from learning how to crawl. Our pediatrician says his kid skipped crawling and went from sitting to standing and walking. I've heard that it's not good for a kid to not crawl because of hand/eye coordination. And that it keeps them from learning how to read well. But others have told me this is hog wash. My friend's kid who is Ben's age has been crawling, pulling himself up and getting into everything for awhile. I guess mine will catch up soon...and yours will too :)

My little girl, is trying really hard to crawl (forward that is, she does fine backwards). She mostly does the army crawl or rolls everywhere she wants to go. She will also stand holding on to the sofa or coffee table. My other dd, who will be 3 Jan. 10, never crawled either...she started pulling up at around 9 months and was walking by 10 months. I agree with another poster in that I'm fine with her not crawling yet as I do not have to chase her yet. For the most part, she stays in one general area. Not so when they start crawling.

My son started standing and pulling himself up on the furnature when he was 6 months, and now he crawls around like mad. But he was born at the same time as three of my friend's childern, and non of them are crawling. They will decide when they are goingto do things, don't try and rush because after they are mobile, you have to chase them!!! My friends all had girls, and I don't know if that affects anything or not, I herd it does, but it could be an old wives tale.

my son is not crawling yet. When he tries and goes backwards and gets really upset. He can get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth but thats about as much as he can do. He is nowhere near standing up. He can sit up if i put him in the sitting postion but when he sees that I am not holding him he topples over.He will be 8 months on 22nd.

My daughter just FINALLY decided to crawl a couple weeks ago, but now she's pulling up on everything and starting to cruise along the furniture! I think sometimes late crawlers would prefer to be walking, so I wouldn't worry about it! :) Once she tries the crawling, that will be it and she'll be all over the place! My daughter wasn't motivated to crawl until she noticed the blinking lights of the laptop on the floor one day... that's all it took, and now all she wants to do is figure out how to get to those blinking lights!!! :) Maybe try to motivate your daughter by making a pile of toys a foot or two away from her and see if she tries to get them... or put the bottle on the floor just out of reach and see if she'll work for it! Hope that helps! :)

My son Koa just started rolling over actually...well I think he coulda rolled over a long time ago but was just not ready. He stands up for about ten seconds by himself but shows NO intrest in crawlng. He just wants to stand. Oh well, they say babies that don't crawl early, usually walk early. (Im very content with him just sitting where I put him) haha...he cant get into anything that way.

Kaiden is crazy....he has been crawling since 6 months, pulls himself up and walks around the furniture, and if you stand him up and let go, he will stand there for about a whole minute.....but none of my other kids did these things this early....so they all do things at different paces!!! Hang in there, she'll do it when she is ready!
