Formula to cows milk??

Thanks everyone.. You were all a big help.. I have got her onto cows milk now with no problems.. I just started mixing half formula half cows milk for a few days then made it 1/3 formula 2/3 cows milk then this morning she had her first day without any formula what so ever.. I think she wil be fine :)

My boy is on one bottle of cows milk a day, as well as with his cereal. Next week we move up to two bottles, with only his bedtime one then being formula until we finish the tin of formula, and then it's straight cows milk. My doctor told us he should be fully on milk by 1. We had no problems changing over, especially since we thought he was lactose intollerant and this was just an experiment suggested by the doctor- no lactose intollerance! Yay.

i give mine milk for his lunch(only like 3 ounces) and im going to phase in the milk with his formula i did it with my daughter and it worked quite well!

My son has been on milk for about 3 weeks now we mix with formula and sometimes during the day he gets jsut plain milk.

How long are you letting the milk stay out?

i wouldnt mix them together personally. its fine to change them over to cows milk at 1 yes. id start off mixing half water half milk and see how she reacts.

My little man has been on cows milk for sometime now, l just watered it down a bit....he loves it better than formula and l have had no side effects from it on him.....just started cutting teeth faster. My heath nurse is not worried about me changing him over as he eats everything and anything....aint no fussy eater.

All my other boys (4 more) where on cows milk early....there in prefect health. The things you hear about what happens to a baby if you put them onto cow milk to early , l believe every baby is different and takes to things at different ages.

Ive been using cows milk in my sons cereal, he hasnt noticed any difference. He is 11 and a half months old now, and once I have finished off his formula tins, I will switch over to cows milk!

my 11 mnth old has just finished his last tub of formula which he was having just as his bedtime drink, he's had cows milk for morning and afternoon drinks for the last mnth and he's not noticed any difference

I have a son who turns 3 in July and I switched him straight over to cows milk on his first birthday, so I am just going to do the same thing with my little girl.

Well, with my first 2 kids I just went straight to cow's milk at 1 and never had any issues. I plan on doing the same with my 3rd. I'm interested to see the replies.

What are some of the concerns about switching to cow's milk?  One thing I was thinking of doing was using whole milk that is organic from cows that weren't injected with hormones..., but that is as far as I gotten in thinking about it....

My daughter has been drinking cows milk for lunch and snacks and has formula in morning and before bed.

I honestly think the cows milk is preferred by her because she always has leftovers of the formula, but sucks back the milk.

I started my daughter on the half milk half formula combo. She is now on her last can of formula and seems to like milk better then the formula

We're on our last containers of formula too. I'm going to introduce whole milk and like my son, plan to have her on it for a year and then phase to lowfat milk. My son (almost 3) seemed to do fine with that and loves milk.

I've already started introducing whole milk once a day just to get him used to it. He didn't even notice the difference and takes it the same. As soon as I'm done with this last can of formula he'll be all on whole milk.
