How many teeth do your 18 month olds have?

EmmaLynn has 2 top middle 4 bottom middle and 4 molars so a total of 10. I thought that was just fine but it seems to worry my mom. So I was just wondering what the average was. Also, when did you first take your kids to the dentist?

My daughter is 19mon and only has 5 teeth (3t and 2b). She didn't get the first one til 14months. At this rate the last tooth will come in when the 1st one falls out!

Hey! My Maia hasn't had any new teeth since she was 11 months, and she has 8, so not to worry. She saw a dentist two weeks ago first time, and he said not to worry either, that they will come in time. Also they normally appear by the time they are 2.5 years old. My mum has had 5 children, and she said that a lot of them come together in the end. :-) Hope this helped.

My son is 19 months old and has 16 teeth. He started cutting them when he was 6 months old and they just never stopped coming in. he's actually cutting more now, they just havent broken the skin yet. But i wouldnt be worried if he had more or less, every kid is different.

My 18 month old has 20 teeth...she has just finished cutting her last two molars. She got her first two at 5 months and then by 12months had 16 teeth. Very glad she has gotten them out of the way before my new baby is born :)

Dont worry about things. My friends babies only started teething around 12 months and now at 2years they have got almost all their teeth. All babies are different in their stages of development. As long as they have all their teeth by 3years then it is supposed to be fine. :)

My son started getting his teeth late too. I was very worried because my nephew is just 3 weeks older than my sonand he has a mouth full of teeth. My son has the four front top and the four front bottom and about 4 in the back. I've heard that every kid is different and they will come.

Like all development stages with children they are differdent, my daughter has a total of 14 teeth and she is now 19 months old but my niece who is 7 & 1/2 weeks older only has 10 teeth that I know of.

My daughter has 10 teeth, 4 front top n bottom and two top molars that just popped through. Also 2 big bumps on the bottom where we've been waiting quite a while for more molars.

My 19month old has 16 teeth .. soon to be 18 (she has two protruding right now). She started cutting teeth at 3-4months though, and she usually cuts them 2 at a time. She got all 4 molars all at once, so I guess it all depends on the kid. Doctor told me that some kids mature different aspects at different times. They said my daughter was a slow "mover" (she sat up later, crawled later, walked later) & a fast "teether". So don't worry. She will get all her teeth on her own time!

First molars. And is now strugling trough her Canine teeth.

I am a mom of a set of 18 month old twins they each have a full mouth of teeth although one has more than the other does but, I was always told if it takes longr for them to come in they will be healthier. I am not sure about that but I hope so.

Hi, I've noticed that girls tend to get their teeth a bit later than boys do, or just slower. But that's just an observation I've made. My friend's daughter who is also 18 months old now, has 8 teeth. My son has almost all his teeth, also 18 months old. So I really think it differs from child to child. But I wouldnt worry if I were you...

As far as I know, it doesn't really matter how many teeth they have, as long as they have all of them by the age of three. Still, shouldn't the top middle ones come out before the molars? Here is what wikipedia says: Central incisors : 6–12 months
Lateral incisors : 9–16 months
Canine teeth : 16–23 months
First molars : 13–19 months
Second molars : 22–33 months

I wouldn't worry about it. My 18month old has 12 teeth but my niece at his age, believe it or not had very few, 4 if I remember correctly. She was told all kids teeth come thru at different ages and not to worry.
