Hi all... I'm really looking forward to being able to get tips and advice from other moms in the same situations! I have a daughter, Ava, who was born April 4th, so she's almost 7 months now. At about 2 months or so, she started to sleep pretty well through the night, so I thought I was one of those moms who "lucked out". Everything lasted fairly well until she began crawling and sitting herself up at 22 weeks old. Within a few days of doing that, she began severely protesting her reasonable 9pm bedtime (I'm talking about full out screaming sessions!) It's been about 7 weeks since she started actively crawling, and she's been going at breakneck speed ever since... first pulling herself up on all our furniture a few weeks ago, and as of last week, walking around holding onto whatever is within reach. Now, not only are her bedtimes suffering, but she's begun refusing to nap for longer than 20 or 30 minutes (previously took 2-3 2 hour naps) without me either singing her to sleep for 40+ mins or just giving up altogether and napping with her!! I don't GET it?!? I've read that when they start learning more and more things, they have a harder time sleeping as much, but she still needs to sleep! If I simply followed her cues, she'd probably only sleep for 7-8 hours a day total... and this is over 6 hours LESS than she was previously sleeping. At the risk of losing my mind, I've given in to napping with her sometimes, but I'm scared I'm starting a horrible habit that will be even harder to break... If ANYONE has any tips I would appreciate them SOOO much!!!... I love that she just wants to go-go-go, but I'm slowly GOing crazy, and get nothing done at all around the house anymore, so everything is starting to suffer... HELP.
